In the first CPU-Z attachment, it says you have a PC4200 module installed in one slot. If that is the slot of your new module, then it is running at 533 MHz, and not 667 MHz. Have you installed two new modules, or just one?

    hi m8...

i bought it installed with ddr667 in april and its only know i noticed it in the utils.

xa 1526 from ebuyer and description was..

    # Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-56 - 1.8GHz (x2), up to 1.6GHz FSB, 2x512KB L2 Cache
    # RAM: 2048MB DDR2-667MHz
    # Hard Drive: 160GB
    # Screen: 17" Widescreen TFT
    # Optical Drive: DVD±RW Dual Layer
    # Graphics: NVidia GeForce Go7600 256MB
    # Wireless LAN: 802.11a/b/g
    # Warranty: 1 Year
    # Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium Edition

so why give 667 memortif the system cant use it and tops out at 553?

    thanks

Your everest screen shot says it's running at 533mhz or DDR2 PC 4200. This happened to me, the box said 667mhz but turns out it was only 533mhz. I took it back and got the proper memory.

The system can use the 667mhz memory, its just that your memory is 533mhz. I don't really think there is that much difference, I think that 667 has higher clock speed and the 533 has a lower latency, but please don't qoute me on that. I may have them backwards.

    wprime says the following...

    AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56
    Core: Taylor BH-F2
    Clock: 1803.9 MHz

    FSB: 801.7 MHz
    L2 Cache: 1024 KB

    Memory: 2048 MB DDR2
    Frequency: 257.7 MHz @ 4-4-4-11

do you think ebuyer didled me and would it effect me do you think?

The difference is practically nothing between 533 MHz and 667 MHz, and its certainly not something that will affect performance. Its caused because whilst 533 MHz is lower frequency than 667 MHz, 533 MHz also has a lower CAS latency value, and it gives it quite an advantage. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it, because of their being no difference.

But still, they told him that it was 667 MHz. I would complain about that actually.

I would complain if I didn't get the hardware I bought it for, like a processor difference 1.6 vs 2.0 or it said 2gb's but I only got 1gb. The 533 vs 667 imo is not worth going to all the trouble for.
