Yes, I have been playing rise of nations lately, performing like Bentley on road and finger on butter! Very smooth.

I work on photoshop and flash together at the same time on many many layers, I do experience some jerky screen but once in a blue moon.

Overall a very happy FS costumer. (So far)!

Does anyone know what the standard hard drive speed is for this laptop? According to this post it's 7200, Ive read on another forum that it could be 4200. Fujitsu website doesnt say anything and I cant find it anywhere else.

If it is 7200rpm, the laptop seems like a really good deal as I cant find any other laptops anywhere near this price with the same spec.

Could anyone point me in the direction of some official specs?

    Cheers

Clearday - Have you upgraded the hard drive in your laptop? if so how much did it cost? I phoned Fujitsu to get an official answer on the hard drive speed. They said they could guarantee it wouldn't be a 7200rpm drive, but it would be "between" 4200 and 5400, depending on the batch (and I guess the drives they had handy at the time!!!) I couldnt find this info anywhere on the internet!

Plain? well this description goes what s the meaning of plain?
yes it hasnt got a nice shot when you compare with ACER Ferrari...
but I can derive and I can say "plain" yes it s business...it s elegant...an artless, conservative, more professional look when you look Acer Ferrari...anyway I dont look out a blonde...

    Hello everyone,

First off, I am so sorry, I got myself an Amilo M, not A [8)]

I don't know about my HDD speed. Is there anyway to check it?

Yes it may look little boring to some. I really didn't care about looks when I saw its specs and price tag.

    Hello there,

Does anyone know who the real makers, I think they call it ODMs, are for Fujitsus?

I have an Amilo A widescreen, and after quite a bit I found out that they are originally made by Mitac Computers in Taiwan.

Here is a link for those interested http://www.mitac-mtc.com.tw/Products.htm

    Amilo A widescreen = Mitac 8050

How are Mitac as notebook makers?

Also, interestingly enough, I found that these notebooks ARE available in US. They are rebadged by the name of "Winbook" Series: W

    Just thought I could share!

hey people... can anyone tell me if the AMilo m1420 trackpad has scroll features? i used a D1840 and the trackpad was niiice and fast, easy to use.

any thoughts on yours? i'm also looking at the Amilo L 1300 which is a cheaper version of the M1420, 512k cache insted of 2Mb, 64mb shared memory instead of 128Mb Radeon 9600.

can anyone suggest how much of a difference i'd find between these configurations, regarding cache and grafix?

    cheers muchos
