fingerprints & S2110

read review on the S2110 earlier. The reviewer mentioned that the top cover of this machine was prone to unsightly smudging. I just recently bought a S2110, and it is prone to this, VERY prone to this. There is a product that Greatly reduces this problem. Believe it or not, you can get it at your local Honda motorcycle shop. It's called "Pro Honda / Spray Cleaner & Polish". Really resists smudges and fingerprints. This stuff is Great. Works on anything, even stops smudging on Stainless Steel kitchen appliances.
It won't give you more battery life, but at least your fujitsu won't look like you last used it as a TV tray either!
(Important Tip: don't spray it on. apply it to a soft rag first then apply it...........but you knew that already didn't you?)

thanks for the tip. I guess this might also work for the P7000 series.

I have a question. Does the surface's texture change when you use it? I mean does it get any shinier or rougher, or maybe a bit of change of color. Cause I am wondering if does change the surface quality it might be that on the long run it might hurt the paint job, fading or chipping off!

 

Doesn't change it abit. I love this stuff. it really is amazing how well it works on almost everything. Originally designed for detailing motorcycles. And if you know any bikers, NOTHING goes on your ride that might harm the finish in ANY way. It also is antistatic. (can't have that pesky dust clinging to your cruiser). Seriously, I've found it ranks right up there with Duct tape and WD-40 as one of mankinds great leaps forward!
just wipe it on, then wipe it off and buff lightly. you may see some very slight streaking immediately afterwards. But that disappears after an hour or so.And it can be used on almost any surface. Metal, plastic, vinyl, rubber......even clear plastic windshields. The smudgability (if that's a word) of my s2110's case top is not just improved, it's almost a non-issue now.

 

Do they sell a similar product elsewhere? My closest Honda dealer is far away and my ThinkPad is a fingerprint magnet?

 

cool. I guess I'll have to get that when I finally decide if I am going with S2000, or P7000 and order, both are smudge prone models, actually the most 2.

So how/where do you get it? Is it available online to order? (or just to make sure to know what to look for)

I can even and try it on things that get too dusty in my appartment. Avoid the weekly clean ups and enjoy my weekends more ... ya I am pretty lazy

 

This is nice, I wonder if the car dealerships could order it in...what's the cost?

 

i wonder if it would work for an Ipod? those things get so smudgy it is retarded.

i don't own an Ipod, i have PSP but my roomate has ipod Nano and that thing always looks filthy :I

 

Where to get/ and how much:
Almost any Honda shop will have it. Cost around 6-7 bucks for a BIG spraycan. (enough for 10 motorcycles, or 1000 laptop tops)(they make a smaller can too)
As for online: Just google "Pro Honda Spray Cleaner & Polish". comes in a black can/white banner w/pink lettering. I'd try a link, but I am better at cleaning computers than working with them.
