Thanks to all..
right now I am in no hurry but right now this is the order of my decision choices if I could get it right now..the timing of me getting it depends totally on when and if I can get what I want in it.
1. Fujitsu..
n5000 but would need 3.2ghz, must be a northwood....128meg video card, legacy ports...and as an email from fujitsu said they are now putting prescott processors in it and can't put legacy ports in it then this one is prob out. Not too happy with what i have read about heat on this one too...
E8000 would wait for the 755 processor, 128 meg vid card..it has the legacy ports..would like a 16 inch screen....
2. IBM...
the p4 model again the need the northwood 3.2 ghz...but they only have 3.0, which i might consider.
A centrino...again they are not out with the 755 processor yet and the 128meg video card.
3. Dell d800 latitude, which has everything now and the 755, that I want
4. this accelerator model http://www.portablez.com/content/1/56v.php which has everything I want, except not too sure of liking the dead pixel policy and they don't have the accidental warranty, and not sure I have confidence in after sales service of going to the manufacturer instead of reseller..but either the sagar or prostar of that one...Have heard worse things about sagar service than prostar.
Or the 17 in model here http://www.portablez.com/content/1/87small-s.php same reasons as the accelerator
5. Acer, but it would take some convincing to get me to go with them because of some things i have read elsewhere.
Now thanks to Brian I have also contacted dynamix about the possibility of them importing a Fujitsu celcius for me. They responded and said they would see what they could do...if the warranty is the same and can get the english version of everything and the power will work here without any adapters this is definitely a probability if the price is right.
While I wait for what I want, I will also keep an eye on the amd athlon 64 laptops...they are kind of alluring too...tho I would like one with an FX processor in it.
As for the Dothan 755...I know it is priced much higher than the 745...and not much difference in performance, I want to get the fastest now as this laptop will last for 4 or 5 years. that is why I am still drawn to dell or IBM for the anything goes warranty too...t

what kind of laptop do you have now?
for what it is worth
