I heard alot about this product and it seems like everyone likes it. I saw it in person and it is pretty nice. Only thing i'm worry about with this product is it's battery life. Fujitsu replied me saying there is a "High Capacity" battery pack for this notebook, i went online every where tried to search for it, but I found nothing. Could any of you provide me with the information thank you very much.

and also if u go to PCworld they are saying that Fujitsu, Hitachi, and NEC is going to release a new kind of battery for notebook making it same as a celleular phone. i dunno what's going on but it is pretty cool.

I haven't used this model, but I did use the prior versions and could easily milk 3+ hours out of it. I'm sure one of the guys who recently bought a new one could provide more info.

I got over 3.5 hours of constant use while using:

    Internet/Email
    Running Adaware once
    Running Spybot one
    Running degragmenter once.
    A little word processing

It was about 3.5 hours from fully charged until a warning said there was only fifteen minutes left. It should be noted that I had it set on the "Maximum Battery" setting with a dim screen and less processing power.

You can also buy a modular battery that you can swap the cd burner for and allow you to get about eight hours of batter life (becuase you would be using two batteries). You can find this on the www.PortableOne.com site for about $180.

Hope that helps. Ask me anything else if you need.

When I brought my S6210, Fujitsu doesn't sell modular bay battery seperately also. The new type of battery that xh was talking about is probably a fuelcell battery. need to more reading about it though.

Thank you guys for this information. 3+ hours, humm that's not bad, but could be better tho. Brian i heard that you have a P5000D series. How long does those last?? SOme say 5 hours, but then if u sacrifice cpu power what will be on?? 700mhz? 600mhz?? since 1ghz is low enough scarificing would be harsh.

and is the whole body magnesium or plastic?? some shop i went to say it is magnesium and some i went to say it is hard plastic?? which one which one??

    thank you so much guys

3+ with high brightness and WiFi on is pretty strong. You'd be hard pressed to beat that, unless you have a P5020 ;)

I get about 4 hours, with wireless on, screen dimmed a bit. It's a magnesium body with a few plastic parts. Don't worry about the power drop, which is 600 MHz. You can force it to full speed if you want, but I haven't found anything that runs slowly even at the throttled speed. I also have 1 GB RAM though.

the 1gig RAM will improve performance a bit, and by simple formula, 600mhz x1.5=900mhz. Even on battery you will get performance very close to 1GHz P4, obviously almost anything will run.

No I do not work for PortableOne. That is where I got my S6210, and it is the only place where I have seen the modular battery for sale. You can buy it from wherever you want. [ :)]
