Check the manual, it will specify. Otherwise go to www.fujitsu.com and look for specs or call the place you purchased the laptop from. Yes, you have to remove the keyboard to replace it or add more. Search on these forums and you will find a couple threads discussing replacing under-keyboard ram.

You do not take out the keyboard to replace the RAM for this model. Replacing the RAM simply involved unscrewing a cover underneath the laptop, snapping the memory module into place, then putting the cover back on.

The S2110 uses DDR 400 mhz PC3200 RAM.

actually 333MHz will work too, 400Mhz will just downclock to 333MHz.

And make sure they are 200pin SO-Dimm (for laptops)

You might want to use the memory configurators thru crucial's or kingston's websites to match your model with correct memory, if you are new to this.

And yes the memory is easily accessable from the underside of the lappy.

hm...so even if you have pure ddr400 ram in the system, it'll still run at ddr333 speeds?

Thanks qwester, you corrected my mistake. The specs of the S2110 list DDR 333Mhz PC2700 RAM. Sorry for the error.

And yes, DDR400 in a DDR333 system will run at 333 mhz.

My mistake. I was looking at the 6000 series or a different Fujitsu where you have to remove the keyboard.

mm i see...thanks for the info nesbo. i was led on to believe that the ddr400 would actually benefit the turions. supposedly the turions have the capability of using that extra bandwidth. i remember seeing an article about the ferrari using the turion ML processor against a centrino. apparently it had some program which allowed the ferrari to perform slightly better with that ddr400 ram. i'm still confused actually...(not very confident about the information) =/

Why is DDR 333 PC 2700 ram more expensive than faster ram like DDR 400 etc...? If i buy DDR 400 is it compatible with my current 256MB fujitsu factory ram.

Because of availability prices just go up even if it were inferior. Same reason why SD is more expensive than DD RAM.

If you buy DDR 400 it will most likely run perfectly well with whatever is in your system at 333MHz. You can just double check at the manufacturers website that the RAMs you are buying are backward compatible, but I have never seen DDR400 that don't run at 333MHz (266MHz is a different story ... the one I have, which are DDR400 support 333 but not 266)
