My notebook has a celeron m processor 1.60ghz 1.59ghz, and 448mb RAM. When i purchased the notebook, it had 512 RAM. I am baffled as to what happened.
Some of the music software i use requires 512 to operate correctly. So i am puzzled as to what has happened? Any suggestions??? I have a free ram program running and notice the notebook often seems to slow up severly recently also and in my system tray, the free ram program indicates a red flashing light showing there is no RAM available???
Im quite new to using computers so perhaps someone can tell me a way to remedy these shortages of RAM. Or do i simply need to go out and purchase a gig of RAM? I dont want to waste the money on this as i only really need the 512 the notebook is supposed to have in the first place

sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
The rest of the RAM is being shared by your integrated graphics card. Nothing to worry about, it didn't just go missing..
However, if you can, do upgrade the RAM to 1 GB.. It will make a lot of difference.. -
thanks sesshomaru. will just the cheapest option do from my local computer shop or do i need to go for a certain brand or anything?? buying 1Gb R
Im running AVG 7.5 the free edition which i rate highly as it seems every bit as good as the norton i used for a year. But now i have two trojans which AVG cant remove. Apparently they are in the archive so cant be removed. They were attached to a program i downloaded using p2p sharing . I cant recall the name of this trojan as my anti virus didnt save the details of it cos it cant remove them.
Ive noticed that everything is operating slower in the lastb few days than normally. Would a better anti virus software be able to sort this prob out. I think the trojan was called sometyhing like generic 10.h but not certain and was in a back up file. Any ideas???
