If the Fujitsu LCD warranty worth it? More to the matter does the Fujitsu screen (in particular the s6231) scratch easily from contact with the keyboard?

Also, the hinges of the s6231 how durable are they? Will they loosen or crack easily?

    Thanks.

I think I was quoted from P1, 1 year was around $100 and 3 years $300+. They gave me a more exact quote, I just can't remember.

    Thanks for the answers.

edit: Will Fujitsu void your warranty if you install RAM yourself? (side question: how difficult is it to install more RAM into a FUjitsu notebook?)

I'm not sure of the cost of the screen warranty so I can't comment, but I've used the S6231 for two months and from what I recall there was no way the screen would make any contact with the LCD when closed. The hinges and overall build is certainly durable and they will not loosen or crack.

Adding RAM will not void your warranty. As for difficulty, it's a 2 out of 10, only because you have to use a screwdriver.

I don't think their warrantees are worth anything, let alone the extensions. Basically, they provide you with one year of free phone support. They will be glad to let you talk about your problems, and that's about it. You see, when you do send the unit in, they test it, say it works great, and then send it back to you in the same condition you send it in as.
