i looked underneath and there are no bays but lots of screws but it doesnt seem to want to come apart. any ideas or websites i can visit to find the info?

You don't access it from below but from above. More painful than most. Involves getting under the keyboard - prise the piece between the keyboard and the screen up and you can remove the keyboard. You can do the same thing on Dells I gather.
There is definately an engineer's pdf that shows exactly step-by-step how to do it cause I read it a month or so ago. Erm. Suppose I could make a basic effort to find it now -

Use a static strap and really watch the screw positions - every one must be put back where you found it!
Might do this myself cause I hate the fan on this model - I wonder can mod it -
