I spent alot for htis laptop.. about 1800. Everyone is making a big deal on how its so expensive! and why I had to get such a laptop as this. I must agree that it does cost alot, and I am starting to get a little guily about buying this thing!..
anyone else feel like me? i dont know if I should return it or if it worth spending almost 2g's on a laptop? any suggestions or advice would be appreciated alot!
thanks

value is dependant on the person. If you need it, fits your budget, like it then whatever amount of money you spend is worth it.
It's cliche I know, but no one can really say if your purchase was worth it, except for yourself. -
The value is in the eye of the beholder. If it makes sense for the way you use it, the money is well spent.

I only feel sorry for my purchase because my needs have changed since I bought it (a year later). I couldn't have know that I was going to be changing fininte element programs (my deciding factor) so it's hard to blame myself. The only thing I long for is better mobility, but really, I have all the mobility I need.

The difference is being satisfied with something and using it vs. being unsatisfied and letting it collect dust. There are times to be cheap and times to splurge (within reason). 2g is the going price for a good well equiped laptop. 2.5-3g's is where I would start to feel guilty and selfish.

i agree. i think the magic mark for laptops is $1999 and this applies to people who use laptop for general mobile usage; power users need not apply (those people will also spend half a grand trying to reduce their desktop noise by a single decible).
also think of it this way, if you got a Dell for even a grand, i think a year later it would be extremely hard to justify purchase no matter how much cheaper it was.
moral? there's no difference between $500 crap and $1500 crap; crap is crap. $2000 spent on quality goods will always have a specific and inherent value.
hell, there's been so many times i've been pissed that i spent even $5 on crap when i could have spent a few more dollars for something better.
what was it? well it was heatsink paste; i decided to save some three dollars and bought the stick on type and it was a horrible experience in trying to apply those to the heatsink. i could have bought a generic artic silver one for $3 more dollars.
moral #2? don't cut corners and buy right the first time, especially with big purchases ala laptop.
im having a guilt trip now!!!!!!!!!!! uggh
