what tricks do you guys have to increase the battery life? besides just turning the lcd brightness down. is there anyway to lower the cpu power?

And typically how long does your s6210 last?

turning off the wi-fi switch helps also, but I'd say get the bay battery. The 2nd battery option rocks -- i don't understand why more laptops don't have it. Mine runs about 6 hours straight w/ both batteries.

Yeah, those tips and turning off programs or services that aren't needed is about all you can do. The display is the most impactful move though.

You can throttle down the CPU by selecting Max Battery under adjust power options. It will throttle the CPU of a 1.6ghz Centrino to 225mhz under light use...it varies though depending on your usage..but having it set to max battery will effectly save power.

To help reduce screen power one can use a white background, then lower brigness a great deal! Every bit will help!

is there a specific program that can downscale you cpu to run at a lower speed to save battery life? I know for sure I don't need to run at full 1.6 ghz at most of the time... what program can do this?
