Hi,
There's been a problem with my cd-rom. It wouldn't burn anything or read any cds. Whatever cds I put in there: blank, data cds, audio cds it will make some really loud spinning noises and then stop. When I try and open it from My Computer nothing is in there if its a cd with data on it.
So my question is whether my cd-rom is dead or is it normal? and does warranty cover this? The brand of my cd-rom is Mat****a and yes its pretty ****.
Thanks for all your help.![]()

I've phoned Fujitsu and they will replace my drive for me under warranty. I was trying to get them to replace a different brand of dvd-ram but they said since it's a warranty repair they can not give me other brands.
Thanks again for your help Martin. -

You know what? Fujitsu service centre is so great they even replaced my keyboard and my LCD for free of charge.
My LCD has a small spot which looked darker than the rest of the screen. Also my keyboard has faded away the top coat of the paint and they just offered to replace it.
So my notebook is virtually like new.
is my cd-rom dead?
