Are you sure you're not brushing the touchpad with your wrist? That happens to me sometimes where it thinks I clicked the mouse to position the cursor.

You will have to enable the touchpad lock whilst typing to prevent the cursor from jumping around; typically it is Function Key (Fn) + F4. Look for the mouse icon on the row of F keys.

 I just purchased mine a week ago and have the same problem. It is NOT from my wrist or other part of my hand touching the touch pad. I had the same problem with a Dell and a Gateway. This is very annoying!

I am returning this machine. It is very slow, has less than an hour battery life just with general use and 30 mins with dvd, and gets extremely hot. Any suggestions on what to buy? I am not a gamer but require speed, sharp bright screen, min 15 inch screen, lots of RAM and HD.

There are many other machines you could choose from. Fill out an FAQ form and post it in the "What Notebook Should I Buy" forum, and you should get a healthy response from there. Good luck.
