Well I just bought the Fujitsu lifebook N3410, its undershipping and will arrive later.

I have been trying to find reviews on the Fujitsu N3410, like someones experiencing on it...but haven't found anything on it...only a few people's ratings saying it's good...have anybody bought this notebook yet?

actually yeah they are mostly the same but because of a little bit heavier and a shorter battery life is shorter than the 3510, but wonder how shorter it is and never used a notebook 6.6+ lbs...

Ive owned a n3410 for about a month now. Ive been quite happy with it.

Pro: Very nice lcd!! Seems really solid and well made. Doesnt get too hot, even after extensive use. Nice keyboard. No dead pixels. Not too much extra junk preinstalled.

Con: Less than 2 hrs battery life with provided battery. Should mention there is a larger battery available that gives 4+hrs-adds .5 lbs. It has some weight to it- 6.6 lbs. Personally, I dont find that a big deal-I placed a premium on it being well made and solid. Shared graphics memory-Im NOT a gamer but I know this is a deal breaker for some.

Conclusion: Id recommend the n3410 if your looking for a reasonably priced laptop-but dont want to sacrfice build quality.

I'm typing this on my N3410. Screen - as everyone says, is absolutely amazing.

I had never seen a Fujitsu before so I made this purchase solely on the recommendations in this forum, and I am happy with it.

I have used a number of different laptops - Dell, Gateway, Thinkpad etc. Other than the Thinkpad this has them all beat in build quality. Yes, it is a little heavier but portability is not a concern for me. I also love the understated gray and black look.

My only problem is with the battery dying out extremely fast - I have mentioned this problem in anoher post. I hope the problem has been taken care of since.

Why was the Thinkpad better? Is the screen on the Fujitsu brighter than on the Thinkpad t hough?

yes the fujitsu screen is better....after using the "LIFEbook" i seem to begin to really like this laptop, like others only bad thing is the battery...at least on this model....still I like the build quality of my friends thinkpad is better but this screen is unbeatable

Boon27 - can you tell me if your battery discharges quite rapidly even if the laptop is off, and not connected to a power source?

I mean. like switching off the laptop one day with the battery at 100% and switching it on 24 hours later and the battery is less than 50%.

Would really like some inputs from other 3410 owners.

    Thanks in advance.

dont think I am able to do for 24 hours though as I use the laptop everyday...If any day I get the chance I will try it overnight and maybe see if it goes down any %....

one thing I know is the battery is so short when like under heavy use...prob just last like 30 min..normal use probably around 1 hour no more using main battery....i might have the same problem you have too i think...

I left mine unplugged over night-lost 6%-went down to 94%. Im not sure what is normal, but Id assume some is expected.

As fas as speakers hissing when off (from other thread) I couldnt hear any.

Boon27- battery never more than 1 hr? id look into that. mine is pretty close to their estimate of 1h40 mins give or take under normal use. Id planned on getting larger battery, but so far I really havent needed it. In future i probably will though.

I'll not recommend Fujitsu to any one. Mainly because of their customer service. It's not good!. For a laptop owner, you will have to deal with them at one time or another. I have an N5010.

oh i just figured why i got battery run out so fast...cause I set my laptop to run at full 1.73 ghz all the time..

Edit: battery still runs out fast...it would say 1 hour and 46 min at 95%, but battery goes out faster than it shows

Thanks...I guess my battery seems to run about the same as yours under similiar conditions. I guess I should follow up with Fujitsu support to see if this really is what we should expect.

Just to test some more, I left my n3410 unplugged over night again-it was at 94% in the morning. I then used it (office, firefox, mp3 etc) off the battery until it said I needed to plug in.

Total time was 1 hr 26 mins before I received a warning. Definitely nothing to write home about, but once you consider I didnt start at a full charge- Id say their estimate of 1hr 40 is pretty much right on-atleast it is on mine.

My N3510 recharges rapidly when connected to the mains. It's just fabulous. It's 2 yrs old. I had a problem with it. I just ad to dismantle, blow out the dust and it just came back to life. Incredible.
