    Hi

i am looking to buy this lappy here
    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=34-200-020&depa=3

I know there is a model with the dothan chip, but it cost 300 more, i was orginally looking to only spend 1000, but i figure i can spurge a little more.

I have read the reviews on this site and a few others. All of them say this lappy is very good, the only complaint i have read is that it gets a little warm.

I was wondering if there is a review somewhere that has negative feedback on this lappy.

Does the dothan really make a difference, 1mb L2 vs 2mb L2? is it worth the 300 price increase?

Does anyone who acually own this lappy have any complaints? keys braking off? screen dieing?

How is the noise on the lappy? i am use to a pretty silent pc, seasonic PSU, thermalright heatsink with panaflo 80mm at 7v, and intake and exhaust fans are panaflo 80mm at 5v. will this be annoying in a libary?

I know the screen is good, but how good? how does it compare to the Dell 700m and the toshiba Quismio?
I did not like the screen on HP dv1000 and compaq v2000 at all. but i love toshibas quismio and i dont think the dell 700m is that bad.

Can i buy a extended primary battery for this lappy?

    Thanks
    ~RaNDoM

The additional 2MB L2 cache makes a very small difference in performance. It does get a little warm on the top and bottom left, juss the fact the processor is on top and harddrive is on the bottom. The fan only kicks in when it starts up, and when using a lot of processing power, and yes u can get an extended battery by gettin a modular bay battery, Model #FPCBP89AQ.

What more do I need for this thing?

    hey djxtamaster

    thx for the response

the only question i didnt get a answer on was the screen

can you compare it to a dell 700m or toshibia qosmio or even a Dell 2001FP LCD.

    thx

Fujitsu's CrystalView display is frequently rated as the best in the industry. Of the three you mentioned, I'd rate Fujitsu first, Toshiba, then Dell. The quality of the Fujitsu machine overall is night and day when compared to the Dell also...

I actually got the chance (finally) to see the 700m in person at one of the dell kiosks at a mall near my house this past weekend.

I've always felt that fujitsu makes very high-quality laptops, and after seeing an actual 700m, i'd have to say that based on feel and build quality, the S6210 definitely outshines the 700m (obviously can't speak for performance tho).

Also, not sure if it makes a difference to you, but the keys on the 700m seem smaller than on the S6210, and it was a little difficult for me to type on it.

In my opinion, you simply can't beat the crystal view screens on the fujitsus.

Ahh, and there's the key rub, the Dell keyboards are terrible...and their build feels cheap.
