When i use the machine, with the mouse pad. it tends to freeze and cpu usage goes up to 90% sometimes 100%. I'm using a Fujitsu S7011, I put in a new hdd and installed XP Pro myself (not from Recovery). All drivers are working. I'm using the latest drive from ALPS for the touchpad. I can't figure out what is the problem, why is it :jittering: if anyone can help please.
First I thought it could be speedstep, tuning the mhz down but, when i forced it to max battery it still happens.

You might consider using the drivers that came with the machine. Most recent is not always better.

I have the feel it is a driver issue. For me sometimes after I wake up from hibernation the buttons start acting weird, such as right clicking instead of clicking, and the interesting thing the same happens with the mouse that I use, a logitech wireless. But for me I have the drivers for the pad and for my mouse, so I thought they were just hating [
] each other and just gave up. So only thing I can do is restart whenever it happens.
BTW where did you get drivers from for the touchpad. I'd like to give them a try and see if that solves myprob!

Definitely not a driver problem. I jusr revert it back same version thou. from what i notice is, the mouse and the system freezes, then, it comes back with full cpu usage. I'm really out of my wit. I just installed, Norton 2005, powerstrip, acrobat pro 7, google desktop, speedswitchxp, gmail notifier, office '03,opera, speedfan.
Please help desperately in need of help! -
YESS!!, solved, it was powerstrip, I uninstalled and now it works fine, seems like it had problems with the intel drivers
