First and the most, I love "crystal clear"! It makes picture so vivid comparing to my old sony vaio and compaq tablet I put them side by side. Secondly, the machine is very quiet except for a few seconds when starting up and DVD drive noise when used. The build quality and the feel of the construction are all excellent.

So far my dealing with portable1 has been mostly satisfactory. The delivery was delayed by one day because of UPS's delay. Ivan has been very helpful answering my emails with questions. Tim is very knowledgeable and helped me solving disk partition issue when installing Win XP PRO myself. Victor showed a little bit of impatience this afternoon when I called in for help with XP Pro installation and almost directed me to buy partitionmagic to do the simple partition task I needed which was solved by booting up with Win XP PRO disk.

Last but not the least, Fujitsu's service is one of the best I have ever experienced. I called in twice today all after 7pm, each time they answered the call promptly and showed me their skills and knowledge by helping me pinpoint the trouble (driver issue with XP Pro) and solve the trouble.

I would certainly buy from Fujitsu in the future.

Dude you are taking advantage of portableone if you are calling for free tech support because you can't install xp-pro yourself. They sell at the cheapest price and they cannot be profitable (and stay in business) when they are taking tech calls from users who have gotten in over their head. You should have paid them for the xp-pro upgrade in the first place.

Sounds to me like you need to try a little harder before picking up the phone. There are plenty tech support website will all the information and instructions to fix the problems you are having. When you needlessly burden suppliers for tech support you wind up driving up their cost which leads to higher prices for us all.

well, Portable1 does rock, they're great but Packrat is right that it's probably not their job to give free tech support...but with that said they could charge or hang up the phone if they wanted to so kudos to them for "being nice".

that's great that you getting good support from Fujitsu and you love the notebook you purchased. when you're spending that amount of money it feels good to know you made the right decision. congrats on a smart purchase that you are happy with.
