i bought a Fujitsu S6210 and it had a loud rattling noise that came on after an hour of web surfing. and this is a really annoying rattling. Newegg after receiving the item calls me to tell me that nothing is wrong with the product. they said that they could either send it back to me or refund me the money with 15% restocking fee. i already spent $30 shipping it back to them. so its over $200 i'm losing for returning a defective item.

the guy tells me that they left the computer on for an hour and it didnt make noise but i'm guessing the cpu needs something more intensive for the noise to come out because im suspecting it's from one of the fans. anyways, they told me that theres nothing wrong with it and the last option is to send it to fujitsu.

the guy bull****ted saying that even if they refund me with a restocking fee they are losing money because they have to send it to fujitsu to certify it so that they can sell it at around $900. is it just me or do you guys remember that newegg sells refurbished s6210 for $1,139? thats oem too without any of the cd's and accessories that come with the package.

anyways, i'm very mad and annoyed and will never buy another laptop from newegg. i am a college student and barely had the money to buy a laptop, their suggestion to take 15% off $1,179 and the money it took to ship to them just isnt fair. i'm paying $200 because they don't believe me. tell me if you guys think this is wrong. shoulda went with portable one, i hear they're much more understanding.

How long has it been since you purchased the unit? Are you past the replacement window? I don't know, my friend. If NewEgg is being truthful and really cannot duplicate the problem you experienced, maybe the bumping and jostling it received during the return shipment somehow cleared the rattling problem. If that is the case, in my view, your best bet would be to have them ship the notebook back to you. Give it a thorough workout and possibly the problem cleared itself. Maybe it hasn't, but if you experience the problem again, video and record the sound while the rattling is occuring. Offer it to NewEgg as evidence of your problem. If they offer no resolution that is satisfactory to you, then contact Fujitsu. Surely the notebook is still under warranty... In my experience, NewEgg has a very good Customer Service reputation. I feel your pain, but I've purchased many items from NewEgg and they were always very professional regarding customer service. I hope you are able to resolve this satisfactorily. Regards, Ace [8D]

This is why the best price isn't always the best deal. I would never buy a notebook from NewEgg, their return policy is crap. That said, you have two options. One, take it back and hope for the best. Two, see what kind of protection your credit card offers. If you paid by AMEX you're in good shape, aything else, well, good luck. I'd try the latter anyway just so you know what your options are.

I would choose losing the $200 over putting up with rattling noise. I had a nightmare once dealing with a wireless company not wanting to own up to failures, and I got immense satisfaction by cancelling my service and moving elsewhere. The lady at the nameless wireless company said "you're cancelling your service on valentines day?", "yes, I am" I replied. Business can be brutal sometimes.

Ouch. Another option may be to take it back and send it to portableone for warranty service. They told me they handle most of the warranty claims for Fujitsu, so why not give them a call and see what they can do about it?

Newegg doesn't allow you to return a laptop to them other than for a replacement. You agree to that right before you order the item.

I bought one from them just a few days ago. If I have any problems I will just take it up with Fujitsu. If Fujitsu has a problem with it, they can call Newegg and tell them to support their products.

I bought a s7010d from newegg. I surprised they even gave you a RMA. Their policy are no returns call fujitsu for all suport.

In Dallas their is a very good authorized fujitsu service center that replaced my lcd which had 2 bad pixels and a white spot no questions asked.

I'd suggest you have it shipped to Fujitsu.

i never wanted a return. i just wanted my computer exchanged for one that does not have a defect. customer policy should not be " buy this from us but if its F*ed up, you get your ass out there and return it to the company." i just got the computer and there were problems. i mean its not like i had it for half a year and a problem came up. i had one out of the box. on top of that, their method of testing was to leave it on screen saver, i mean what kind of average user buys a computer to leave it on screen saver?

i have bought a lot of desktop parts from newegg and never once had a problem. and i know many others love them too. but the attitude i got from someone named dave (ext 302) was just rude. he said either take it back or refund and get charged 15%.
ME: can u test it more?
    DAVE: NO!
ME: um... i mean i know theres a problem with it....
DAVE: NO ! its a regular noise.
ME: umm.... i dun think laptops normally rattle.
DAVE: oh sure no its normal.

i just could not deal with this guy. he would not work with me. everything i asked at every angle would be NO! take it back or refund and pay restocking fee. all i ask is to have the laptop tested under average computer uses im not asking much just a little internet explorer or some AOL or some and it will come out. i mean come on, screen saver? what kinda **** is that?

Personally, I dislike Newegg. They are turning into a Tiger Direct. They have gotten to the point where they think they are KING of the hill. I now try and take my business elsewhere if I can. Newegg to me is simply a last resort.

I also received a VERY bad attitude from a supervisor, yes a supervisor at Newegg. The supervisor was worse than the customer service.

all i want is a replacement, they won't replace it. its like they don't want to help. does anyone know how to contact BBB about this? all i get when i talk about my problem is " i bought blah blah blah from newegg, never had any problems.." i spent thousands of dollars at newegg too and i've also never had a problem. its just this time they're telling me take it or leave it with a $200 charge.
well the only option the guy would do for me was to send it to fujitsu and i agreed but guess what ?
they did not tell me to call fujitsu to get an rma # from them before they could ship it to them. and after waiting over a week with no update, i emailed them, that's when they told me. so now i'm fed up and told them that i would contact BBB. does anyone know how to go about that and how it works ?

Your better off contacting the Notebook/Laptop company. I used the BBB with Newegg, and they still didn't care.

It took a lot of "harassment" on my part to get them to comply.

You can contact the BBB here:
    www.bbb.org

Is very easy to file a complaint.

replacement and return are the same thing! Give up on newegg and find a local authorized fujitsu repair center and take it there. They love to replace parts because fujitsu pays them direct. I didn't even have to show a receipt just took it and said it had some bad pixels and they replaced it no questions asked.

whatever is wrong with your they will replace the parts and make it better than new.

I would do the same, take it to a repair center certified for Fujitsu.

PS- Didn't the repair center ask for proof of warranty?

I am trying to find a repair center certified for Fujitsu in their web page and I am not fiding. Could someone point this out to me? I am in CA near, San Jose, and canot find a list.
My computer has two things that I am concerned. I dont know if it is normal. First, when I use the cd makes a very high noise. And second many times when I open the notebook the system takes a while to come back from the hibernate stage. I dont know if this is a windows problem or if it is only my computer.
I bought my computer few weeks ago, so still in the warranty.
    Thanks for any help.
