Does anyone know if the hard drive is IDE or SATA nad whether it is user replacable.Thinking of upfrading from 6240 but find hard drive of 120GB ridiculously small.
    Thanks

The drive is SATA. In the past Fujitsu has frowned on users upgrading the driver, but I'm sure it's not too hard.

I have done it on s6240(which turned out to be an IDE) with no issues but i need to know specifically about 6510 before i buy it as 120GB wont work for me.

The Fujitsu website lists SATA as standard for this model.

If you want, I can open mine up later to see how easy it will be, but I suspect there is little difficulty involved. NBR did a review of the S6510 a while ago, and the reviewer took a picture of the open drive bay. Click on the quote below to see the thread.

I bought a S6510 for my boss a couple weeks ago and replaced the hard drive with a SATA-150 250GB one from Samsung. Other then the fact there were a couple extra steps due to the shock protection it wasn't a difficult install. Only really annoying thing is you have to remove almost the entire bottom of the laptop to get to the hard drive bay so there are like 10 screws you have to take out.

    Thanks all
I just cant understand why fujitsu would limit drive to 120gb when even brands like acer go 250GB.

It's a business notebook, and they probably figure that most business users don't need more than 120GB. I don't agree or disagree with that, but more is always better.
