I think the s7010, s7020 is a very nice laptop with all of the features i want. I am concerned about the fan-noise in idle mode. I've read some not so positive things about the soft constant whirring of the fan, even in idle mode. I want to be able to type and surf with an absolute silent system. (I know the dell x1 is fanless but I don't like the screen very much.) I would be very glad to hear from users about this.

    Thank's, ivan

My fan hasn't turned on in ages... Maybe that's because it's been underclocked... Have you tried underclocking and making your machine the most energy efficient that it can be?

there's a tutorial on underclocking in the www.notebookforums.com if you do a search... you may also find efficiency threads lingering in those forums as well.

    Good luck :)
