hi all sorry for asking yet another question but as im not a heavy notebook user and mostly use desktop system the software is slightly different as to the hardware being fixed...any way my question... :)

1..my Xa 1526...is there software i can use to monitor the cpu temp?

2..same as above but for g7600 card...my desktop used coolbits but wasnt sure if it would work under my forceware driver (9754) as it only has the new control panel and not the old one.

operating system being used vista prem.

    cheers all. :)

Take a look at this thread(top section of the post is for monitoring GPU temps with RivaTuner and the bottom section of Gophn's post talks about Notebook Hardware control which you can use to monitor temps of the CPU and HDD)

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=81852

YOu can also use RMclock to monitor CPU temps and HD Tune for HDD temps

i ran both utils and found out the gpu averages mostly 70c ad cpu is the same with some fluctuations like 67c-80c

i have a 17" laptop akasa cooler pad on the way so that should help :)

was looking at coolermaster ones but the lip they are held on with by the cooler would block my headphone and sd card sockets :( .

anyway when i mentioned a util for the temps im sorry but i meant isnt there a single tool that does it all rather than 2 running all the time?

thankyou for the link and advice tho ... :)

The Akasa coolers seem to be better than the Collermaster ones anyway. Good choice there. NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) meaaured both hard disk and processor, but I don't think its available for Windows Vista yet. You could try Everest Ultimate Edition, which is a great rogram for looking up details for the notebook and can also monitor your temperature. However, its trial software and expires after a set number of days. But, its worth a try.
