Anandtech is reporting Acer and Fujitsu to lead the way this month in releasing turion based laptops. Anyone have details about them?

This seems strange, we already have feelers out to contacts at Fujitsu and elsewhere to see what's up.

Could this be a fujitsu-siemens release? Since european models differ drastically from american and asian models. + there is already an AMD64 model available now. So maybe what it is, is just a refresh of that model with the new core!

It is...just saw a news item on it cmailing Acer and Fujitsu-Siemens are going to reelase Turion based systems. Still no word on a US release. Frankly I don't think it makes sense, but we'll see.

If fujitsu (asia and americas) is going to actually go with AMD64 turion I cannot see it happening in a short time, cause this calls for a development of an entire new model. + I don't see where they can fit it without actually hurting sales on some of their other products.
Adopting turion onto already existing AMD64 notebooks shouldn't be a problem, since they share the same socket and core. I am guessing here, but I think only a new bios is all it would take to have one of those chips running on current AMD64 platforms.

either way, I guess it wouldn't be possible to get one in the states... Makes me wish I could just buy the machine in my sig and get it over with, hehe.

The S2000 series could sure use a refresh/update as those are getting seriously outdated now for that price point. You can get a Centrino model for less. That line of notebooks would be well served with a Turion update and a facelift. I don't know anything, just thinking out loud.
