just ordered a new fujitsu S6231 with 512 mb of memory. i was just wondering if it is possible to install additional non-fujitsu brand memory. i ask this because i looked at extra memory at fujitsu.com and it costs so much more than other brands of notebook memory (at least $50 more than the generic brands at newegg.com.

Just go with whatever good deals you find at newegg. they will work just fine. As long as you get the correct memory type. SoDimm DDR 200pin 333MHz (PC2700)
I did the same and saved $95

N6010: P4M 3.2G, 1GB Dual 400MHz, 60GB 7200RPM, ATI 9700M, 17" WXGA+

so if i want to install a memory do I buy one that is 1 gig and take out the old one? Or do I buy another one and install that in and dont take the original memory out?
how does this work?
I have an n6010 i want to upgrade mine to the highest memory possible. -

Does that mean if I only have 1gb stick.. I shouldn't do the 256 mb + 1gb combo and instead just do 1gb?
