just ordered a new fujitsu S6231 with 512 mb of memory. i was just wondering if it is possible to install additional non-fujitsu brand memory. i ask this because i looked at extra memory at fujitsu.com and it costs so much more than other brands of notebook memory (at least $50 more than the generic brands at newegg.com.

Just go with whatever good deals you find at newegg. they will work just fine. As long as you get the correct memory type. SoDimm DDR 200pin 333MHz (PC2700)

I did the same and saved $95

Does that mean if I only have 1gb stick.. I shouldn't do the 256 mb + 1gb combo and instead just do 1gb?
