hey guys, i got amilo pro v-3205.wid 1.6ghz intel core duo, wid 512 ram n intel graphics(i thnk gma900 or sumthn like tht) its still under warrenty.
i jus wanted to know if upgrading my ram and putting a new graphic card would be enuf to play latest games on it. if yes, then can anyone suggest me a suitable graphic card. fujitsu siemens has made a contract wid some other company for selling extra parts, so no point in asking them.
do reply soon
thanks.

It is in fact not possible to change the graphics card in most notebooks (except ones equipped with nvidia MXM or AMD/ATI Axiom), especially ones which are 12.1" (since they have Heat/power issues with anything above lower end card), so if you want to play new games your going to have to get another laptop (Like the Asus G1S or Dell xps series).
Upgrading the Ram usually helps gaming performance to a certain point, but without a dedicated graphics card it is of little to no use. (although since you have 512MB I would recommend an upgrade anyway to improve general performance. I'd say buy a 1 gig expansion for a total of 1.5GB)
I can however see that your laptop has an expresscard/54 slot on it, which should make it compatible with the upcoming Asus XG station (an external graphics card which is connected to the notebook). I do not know when the release date is, but hopefully it will be sometime soon. If you do buy such a station it would be possible to play the latest games on your laptop. It is even possible to upgrade it for future compatibility. If you choose to buy this station upgrading your ram might be worthwhile to improve your gaming performance -
hey ithcandos,
i checked out the asus xg station u talked bout. the problem is it shows the it needs to be connected to a external computer screen as well as the laptop. so jus wanted to know if i actually have to do it that way or i can jus connect it wid my laptop n play games on it. -
Well, yes from the information I can gather you are corret. It does in fact require an external monitor.
upgrading my amilo pro for gaming.
