    I have seen fujitsu siemens v8010 on insight/uk; related page: http://uk.insight.com/apps/productpresentation/index.php?product_id=FJSYA04EKI . Its price looks very affordable. In addition it has very good features; e.g. 512 ddr2 ram, 60 gb, dvd double layer, and long battery hours(4,5 hrs). Totaly 639 pounds!
    Has anyone got any experiences (good or bad) with this fujitsu siemens model? Also I am curious about the heating issue.

    We don't have FS in the US, but they're generally very reliable and well made.
