where would be the best place to buy an amilo m 1420(80gb..Radeon Pro..512mb ram...) from in Europe?
I have checked out notebooksbilliger.de which seems pretty good, although i dont think they accept credit card. However computeruniverse.net does, and has the same system for about the same price. I have also had a look at shopfujitsusiemens.co.uk(correct address?) but their system doesnt show the same model as notebooksbilliger or computeruniverse. Also on the computeruniverse site it recommends that you buy a new AC adapter. Does this mean that an adapter is not included in the laptop already? (I doubt it but one can never be sure and best to be safe than sorry.)
Thanks for any reply/opinions

hey there, I don't live in Europe but have heard some good stuff about laptopshop.co.uk and here's a link to there amilo lineup of notebooks. I think
http://www.laptopshop.co.uk/new-laptops-notebooks/processor.htm?manufacturers_name=FUJITSU_SIEMENS&pricelow=0&pricehigh=9999&weight=Any&display=Any&screenres=Any&widescreen=Any&hdd=Any&memory=Any&cputype=Any&cpuspeed=Any&wirelesslan=Any&bluetooth=Any&videochipset=Any&opticaldrive=Any&keywordsmatch=&submit2=Click+to+Search&search=yes
also www.dixons.co.uk www.amazon.co.uk or http://www.misco.co.uk/departments/CH12/Notebook/index.htm might be good places to look. -
Have you already bought the laptop (I am a little late with the reply
? I was thinking about buying the same laptop and have been looking around in Europe for the best price.
Now there is also the 1425. -
No I havent bought it yet but i have been thinking about the amilo d. It has a pentium 4 3.2ghz and also has radeon 9700 and i think the amilo m has 9600.. Yeah I noticed the 1425 on computeruniverse.net. Do you know anywhere else the 1425 is for sale?
I should be ordering early next week so i have to decide soon. -
I cannot find it on there homepage any longer[
] I have go to the store if is sold out. I have to check with the local store to see if they have it, otherwise I have to find the 1420 for a good price. Personally I prefer the Amilo M because of the centrino factor.

I know that Mediaworld in Italy had a good price on the 1425, 1290 (the offer ends on Nov 29, but maybe they will be sold out before), and it is better than the one in Germany. It has a 15,4" screen, Radeon 9700 128 MB and DVD-/+RW Double Layer (8.5GB), the rest should be the same. I hope it's still available when I get my paycheck in a week
-
wow that was a good offer alright. I'm now between two minds with amilo a 1630 or m1420 or 1425.
-
Ok, here is a link to a m1425 in Germany, Cyberport. I don't know if they are any good but they ship to all over Europe. Price is 1329 and it has the same specs as the one here in Italy, I was mistaken when I said they had different specs in Germany an Italy. It was just on computeruniverse that they where differnt.

Following are a couple of good links for comparing prices in Germany
http://www.preissuchmaschine.de
http://www.guenstiger.de/
http://www.kelkoo.de (and kelkoo.ch, kelkoo.se, kelkoo.it etc.)
Oh and one more thing, maybe you have already considered this, if you buy it in Germany you will probably get a German keyboard, just thought I would mention it. I know one German store let you choose the keyboard language (English, USA, German, Italian).
By the way, I just talked with the local mediaworld store and they say they still have a few notebooks, so I am going to buy mine this evening[] I hope it is as good as I expect it to be. It will be my first notebook.
Anyway, good luck.

Ok. I have bought the 1425 and I really recomend it[
]. I think I will write a review when I have a little more time.
Personally I would recommend the Amilo M over the Amilo A. It is about 1/2 a kilo lighter and has 80 GB hd instead of 60 GB. The Amilo A has a more powerful processor but the Amilo M centrino processor should be more than enough and the Centrino probably uses less energi than the Athlon 64 so you should get more battery time.
I you have any questions about the 1425, just ask. -
well i think i'll go for the amilo A 1630 cos i will nearly always be using the
laptop near a power point so think i might aswell go for the A. It's still
a very tricky choice though.
by the way.. is a pixel check really necessary?
anyone with an A1630 have any pixel faults?
where to buy && pixel check..is it necessary?
