    Okey, here's my question.

Is there any retail store in New York (e-shopping does not work for me) that sells Fujitsu particularly (not FujitsuSiemens) notebooks? I mean there are some, like J&R and CompUSA, but in their catalogue i can't find anything good. I'm looking for 15.4 screen, penryn chip and dedicated graphics. Hope for any help ;)

    thanks in advance.

No, problem is i'm not from states, i live in Europe, coming to USA/NY in april. I must stick only with NY. So are there any retail stores with Fujitsu notebooks to choose from?

That's what i'm also starting to think :( I browsed homepages of J&R, CompUSA, BestBuy, Circuit City and only JR and CompUSA have Fujitsu in list, but those models don't fit my needs.

Look for the 8410 I think its called, check Fujitsu.com. www.datavis.com sells Fujitsu so ask them if they plan to stock them.

Thanks, i didn't know anything about this store. Variety of notebook assortment is just great. Are these notebooks, that are listed on their site, available at store? Or they do online selling?

You might have luck with a store like datavis or J&R, since they are authorized fujitsu retailers then you may be able to request a laptop they don't carry if you tell them your situation. The E8140 has penryn and dedicated graphics.

Microcenter and Frys both have actual stores.. but I checked and Frys at least doesn't have one in your area. Just because a store doesn't have a listing online doesn't mean it's not in the store. When you get into town I would call and ask. I know I went to a microcenter locally and they had TONS of Fujitsus (and other computers) which did not show up online.

Actually it's an E8410.. they messed the numbers up. It has a 15.4" screen and only a 8400 card. The N6470 has a ATI 2600 card which will be far superior but has a 17" screen.

thanks for advice, i'll take that into account. i hope there will be notebooks to choose from. i put an eye on fujitsu, cause its told lifebbok are made in japan, so i thought build quality will be superb. however, after readin some review on this site, i came into some doubts. have you any expierence with lifebooks?

No, I don't own one or know anyone who has. However, I've been doing research too because I'm going to buy one. Not those though.. I'm getting one with a integrated chipset. From what I can tell the physical build quality isn't that great. Keyboard and case flex are typical.. However, the notebooks themselves seem to be constructed with quality components and they seem to last well despite their case flex.. if that makes sense. Reliability seems to be high. Plus their screens are thought to be one of the best, the best by some, of any notebook.

I've read and heard peoples stating that fujitsu has better control over quality by not pumping out a new laptop once every 2.4 secondes like Hp or Toshiba....anyone believe or here if this is true? And i hear this is why they are only at select suppliers...
