Not many people have Fujitsu's. I have never seen one in a store, and they are not plentiful on online retailers.

Yeah, Fujitsu is one of the smaller manufacturers of notebooks, unfortunately, so the amount of members using Fujitsu will be fewer and obviously the forum will move slower due to the fewer members. If you don't need to focus on Fujitsu solely, the What Notebook Should I Buy, Windows OS & Software, Gaming sections are very busy! :)

Fujitsu-Siemens notebooks are not sold in the U.S. (And Americans probably make up the majority of forum traffic on this website, I'd guess.)

Fujitsu's "Lifebook" notebooks are sold in the U.S., but they are kind of hard to find in stores, and tend to be more expensive than the competition... so they're not that popular.

Im really surprised that Fujitsu notebooks have not become that popular in the US. They build a very high quality well built notebook that is Made in Japan. Most of the other notebooks are Made in China.

I have a N3010 with the MVA type display which nothing can compare these days. My wife has the N6460 which she is replacing her desktop with and she loves it.

I have heard that Fujistu notebooks are very popular in Japan.

In the US, the Fujitsu factory store has not only undercut their online distributors by several hundred per unit but they've resorted auctioning off new laptops right on Ebay for half the factory store price.
They must of made too many. I got an A6120 w/T8100 and all the toys for $500 delivered to my doorstep.

Fujitsu sell a lot of business class machines to commercial organisations and their consumer machines are typically low cost and basic; and those users aren't very common on forums like these.

Take a look on Ebay. They're awash in Fujitsu notebooks. They'd be more popular if they provided tech. service instead of lip service and weren't so secretive with hardware and software details. Acer has Service Manuals online!!!

I have had them in the past. I found them rather "conservative" in their builds, not too keen on pushing the technology envelope. That said, they did pull out of the wholesaler and distributor market. That made a lot of folks really upset. Prices have always been too high until they started dumping them. To bad, they could have listened to the users and been a good option like Panasonic.

Fujitsu's service is not bad, And you can't compare an Acer to a Fujitsu, Acer is like the Kia, Fujitsu like a Lexus, in my opinion...
Also this forum isn't so flooded with peoples because people who come here are mostly here to complain, Fujitsu's are very solid...
Back to retail....Fujitsu used to be carried at Circuit City, like 5-6 years ago...I don't mind that they are not at that many retailers.....I could be wrong, but, I feel at the pace of manufacturing, they can keep quality in check.

    @Joeyrb ..
but being shy and not at many retailers makes people afraid to buy it and soon no one will buy and they will go to the known brands like hp and dell and toshiba and so on ..
here in egypt when i told my friends i got a fujitsu siemens .. they all called me a fool cause i didnt get a known brand .. because they think that fujitsu is a crap while ( untile now ) its very good for the price for me

HERE IS THE REAL REASON WHY THIS FORUM IS DEAD. First of all fujitsu is very very very very well built so there is not a lot of issues with the hardware and software.

Second its made in japan so it is very expensive although in my opinion i think it is worth it because it last longer than the others. (save more money dont need to buy laptop every 2 years or so......)

Third ppl get too much comericials on HP and Dell and Macbook nubs and all the other laptops.

Therefore this forum is dead. Inorder to resolve the problem fujitsu needs to start making laptops from "china" and lower the price which i absolutely disagree but it will jump start their business.

In the end i like my fujitsu e8420 b/c its made in japan. I like their business b/c they dont go cheap on their customers. It sucs though b/c its expensive but you know sometimes expensive stuff cost more b/c its worth more and last longer.

    FUJITSU OWNS!!

why not? I just think ppl that buy fujitsu are ppl that are so busy w/ business that they just dont have time to play around w/ their laptops.

There are a ton of Fujitsus being sold at my local Frys store. I have felt them and played with them and I can tell you that they are very solid built. I think they are not too popular because not many stores have them and they are more aimed towards the older business crowd. Unlike HP and Dell that are sold every where, every one including the mom in the family has one.

Would you want to be a Fujitsu distributor when their own factory store undercuts your price by hundreds and then turns around and undecuts their own 'buy-it-now" price by HALF on Ebay? How does a full service dealer survive when surrounded by discounters and auctioneers schlepping the same identical inventory. CHANGE BRANDS. I would if my kids' food and the rent depended on moving a few rigs a month.

I'm not sure why Fujitsu is allowing all this undercuting activities here in the U.S. its sure not helping them.

I had a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo and was not happy with it at all. It was a nice looking laptop but the battery overheated, the casing cracked and the battery stopped charging. I have seen Fujitsu Siemens laptops in the stores in the UK and they tend to be quite cheap but, I would not buy one.

My school, which is in Ohio, just replaced all of their laptops with Fujitsus! I think they are sweet and very lightweight/thin, so I dont know why this forum is "dead." My teacher had his on a podium about 4 feet off the floor and tripped over the power chord. Needless to say the laptop went with it and landed on the floor. It still worked! No damage! I was impressed.
