I have a $200 gift card for Dell.com and I was wondering what games I should buy that can work for vista. Or should I just buy some PS2 games? The only game I have right now for pc is KOTOR 2 and that works like crap!

KOTOR III has been announced...but that's a while away, and it's a pretty random statement for me to make.

Try the Witcher, it's an RPG that's been well received and it will run on your system.

But Bioshock is very good. Definitely not an RPG but an excellent action/adventure game.

One of the older KOTR would be good, I would recommend Warcraft III to anybody's list since its a great game, I have to say BF2142 is a must get if you like FPS games, Oblivion is ok but I lost interest before the end, more interesting than that now to me is Assassins Creed but thats a game with no replay I hear.

The must get game for you tho is probably a lesser known game, Phantasy Star Universe. Its a great 1 player RPG well worth getting the game just for the story mode, but its a full fledged MMORPG that you can play optionally if you so decide (and it just came out with an expansion that I have not played yet online but did the offline mode for the new story). I wonder if Dell offers the game tho? I assume your gift card is only good from the Dell store.

Based on a mix of your requests and my suggestions:

    PC - Orange Box.
PC - Darwinia (OH GOD DARWINIA, YES).
    Xbox 360 - Mass Effect.
Wii - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
PS3 - Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

Those are all what I'd call 'keepers'. And not the ones in Mass Effect either.

Thats just it, too many people let mass media lead there decisions, just because there are more people that know about a game, or there is more advertisement for it doesn't make it better.

Phantasy Star is a HUGE game, with alot of people that play, just that it was originally Japanese so the American market doesn't advertise it the same. I happen to speak/read/write Japanese and used to play the original way back when and have followed it up until its newest release for the PC, go look up there website, go look at some trailers.

Dont shoot it down just because you never head of it, Hellgate London has made a big splash recently, PSU is a very very similar kind of game but 100X more developed and more fun and runs better, and has that nice JP touch. I own hellgate london so I am not being bias.

I might be wrong here but isn't Phantasy Star Universe a console game? From what little I've heard about it's never been released for PCs.

If I am wrong then the OP should give ViciousXUSMC advice some consideration, it's one of those low profile games that's highly rated by many reviewers yet doesn't sell that well commercially.

It was a Dreamcast game first (again a console that did great in japan but flopped in America due to a bad game market) that was Phantasy Star Online, Then PSO v.2 came out with new stuff on Dreamcast, Then on Gamecube PSO Episode 2,3,4 (Episode 3 was not a real PSO game it was some kind of card/turn based strat game based on PSO), Episode 4 is called PSO Blue Burst. Now finally on PC, PS2, and XBox360 is PSU (Phantasy Star Universe) so yes it is a consol game and has prmarily been one since it came out but PSU is on PC.

The whole thing branched of Phantasy Star games based on Sega Genisis, some older gamers like myself know they are genuine classics up there with Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and Final Fantasy 6 (FF3 in America)

so do you have a $200 dell giftcard or just $200 to spend?

i would go ahead and get the witcher, the orange box (even if you don't like fps, you will after you get the orange box).. maybe..

if you do like fps games at all - get CoD4.

    do NOT get crysis.
