Civ 2 and Civ 4 are great, but Civ 3 sucks. I would hate to see you sour yourself on that.

Go over to gog.com and snag a $5.99 game then buy an energy drink!

Or get Company of Heroes Gold for $7.49 at Steam if you like RTS games.

Only problem is I don't like that kind of strategy game... I reduced my choices on GoG to Freespace 2 and Masters of Orion...

Have you tried it? It's not like regular RTS with resource gathering. You capture posts to increase your flow of resources. Very well done strategic WWII game. But Freespace 2 and MoO are also excellent choices.

eh, real ice cream is better.

As far as the $8.00, I would wait for a steam sale, they have some genuinely good stuff go that low sometimes (a $30.00 game at 75% off)

Haha, there was a supersale weekend going on on steam, and i got GTA4 for $5. If that was still a killer deal i'd recommend it completely, because the fun is endless in a sandbox game.

Freespace 2 seconded, thirded, whatever... if you have not played this game, and you are able to enjoy space shooters at all, then you need to get this game right the hell now.

And then you need to download the Freespace Source Code Project for the updated graphics. The graphics of Freespace 2 were already ahead of their time. The graphics update makes the game look as good as most modern games, and better than some.
