I thought this wouldn't be out until 3PM EST? And I thought it wasn't a beta that was being released today by AMD.
Also, is this one modded or just leaked?
EDIT: "AMD has sampled an early beta to the press ahead of today’s announcement, and they will be posting a slightly newer build of this driver publically at around 3pm today, with a final WHQL release slated to appear next month." This is from AnandTech, which means that this beta might be the version the press reviewed and leaked.
Thanks so much for the heads up, Pasad. -
It is what it is.
-
can anybody confirm that include in the ccc the overdrive option????
-
AMD LCD Overdrive? It's there.
-
i mean PERFORMANCE-OVERDRIVE.
-
Not tried yet..
-
File has been taken from AMD site for some fix, bugs...
-
Well, no doubt. It's a beta. Besides, I just tested BF3 performance and haven't noticed any, but the bump in FPS is vividly noticeable!
-
If you want the driver heres a mirror ----> Zippyshare.com - [email protected]
-
-
Hey asder nice to have you here,is the link you provide include PERFORMANCE-OVERDRIVE??
THANKS -
So any fps bumps from this driver? Still running BF 3 at 40 FPS at everything maxed. I don't believe people can run BF 3 at 60 FPS and just downs to 55 fps in multiplayer just from a driver update..
-
I didn't believe either, but the evidence points to the contrary. And my laptop is now a use case of proof.
-
is this mainly performance increase for 7970m or will the 6990m get any benefits from this?
-
This driver is aimed at optimizing the newest GCN architecture, ie. the AMD Radeon 7000 Series (7xxx cards). The optimizations for your card have already been done in earlier drivers. You cannot expect any major performance increment from this driver, if at all.
-
so did the new driver fix enduro?
-
Also curious....is it worth downloading this? I can't seem to find a straight answer.
-
I don't use Enduro. It's easier for you guys to download, test it and report back for others in your shoes to know. As far as the general operation of the GPU goes, it's a LOT more efficient, Enduro or not. This applies like a generic performance increment to all 7xxx card owners. Specific differences between Enduro on and off would have to be seen from real life benchmark tests conducted by someone with access to two identical machines, for accurate results.
-
Here is what you guys should expect. Seems like an overall decent driver update.
BTW: Did it fix the Enduro problems?
-
12.9 beta : P6318.
12.11 beta : P6894.
hummmm kk
-
lol 500 points difference??and that its stock clocks??well done amd!!
does this drivers has overdrive option for overclocking?
-
I wonder if there will be any improvement in performance in Folding@Home
-
Faster rendering, so yes, why not.
MSI Afterburner works wonders. -

Hows the performance compare to a stock 680M with these drivers? It might sway my decision.

Since the links are down, I guess I'll wait until they're back up after the bugs are fixed. Has anyone established whether this incorporated the enduro fix?
-
Yes, it has the Enduro fix. They said it should be back by 3PM EST, but it looks like it's not ready yet.

PRAISE THE AMD OVERLORDS OUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!
yay. -
-
I believe they said they will continue tweaking but that the hotfix should have "fixed" the Enduro issues us 7970M users (and others) are having.
-

So I'm still rocking the stock Sager driver. Should I go ahead and do a clean install of the beta? Not sure if I should wait or not...
-
BTW, that link is dead. This one works.
AMD Catalyst -
so maybe i should go ahead and order a 7970m?
-

DO ITTT
lol jk, wait to hear more before biting the bullet. I'm downloading now, so I'll give you guys my impressions in a bit
-

i can beleve it!!!!! -
gah i am sitting here just breaking P4000 combined score with my 675m
and mythlogic is out of stock -
Haha, seems like all of a sudden the 7970M has become a 'viable' choice again.
-
tell me about it lol... -
HaloGod2012 Notebook Virtuoso
check out my new scores on these drivers
AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,Alienware M17xR4 score: P7441 3DMarks -
Also curious....I'm not even sure which driver I'm on. What's the proper way to install this?
-
Got 6610 with beta 3 driver, 7970M on P150HM, all Stock!
AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2860QM Processor,CLEVO P150HMx score: P6610 3DMarks -
This score is actually very close to the overclocked GTX 680M speeds. Considering the $300 price difference it seems like we are getting very close to having a hands down best option here (just my thoughts, before someone gets offended).
-
failwheeldrive Notebook Deity
Awesome guys! I'm downloading it now and doing a clean install. Can't wait to run some benchmarks
lol my thoughts exactly. I'm glad I chose the 7970m. -
HaloGod2012 Notebook Virtuoso
i tried higher clocks and cant get much higher
AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,Alienware M17xR4 score: P7490 3DMarks -
Well, that's about 1000 points less than an overvolted, maxed GTX 680M then. That sounds pretty nice to me, it's only about a 13% lead for the GTX 680M.
-
HaloGod2012 Notebook Virtuoso
and i havent even maxed out my voltage yet, so maybe i can match that 680m one day lol
-
Those 3DMark scores are all new nice and stuff but, does the driver bring stable fps on bf3?
-
I just played some BF3 with only 5 people on a medium sized map, all on the highest settings, and I still get only 20+ fps. I didn't get to test Enduro, though. I don't know if the fps goes up as I lower the settings or not.
UPDATE: Just played Diablo 3, max settings with v-sync and AA off... topped out at 65-68 fps. Not really a lot of gain from the previous drivers but a gain nonetheless. -
this is my oc 1023/1560 at stock 1.05v
