I thought this wouldn't be out until 3PM EST? And I thought it wasn't a beta that was being released today by AMD.

Also, is this one modded or just leaked?

EDIT: "AMD has sampled an early beta to the press ahead of today’s announcement, and they will be posting a slightly newer build of this driver publically at around 3pm today, with a final WHQL release slated to appear next month." This is from AnandTech, which means that this beta might be the version the press reviewed and leaked.

Thanks so much for the heads up, Pasad.

Well, no doubt. It's a beta. Besides, I just tested BF3 performance and haven't noticed any, but the bump in FPS is vividly noticeable! :D

So any fps bumps from this driver? Still running BF 3 at 40 FPS at everything maxed. I don't believe people can run BF 3 at 60 FPS and just downs to 55 fps in multiplayer just from a driver update..

is this mainly performance increase for 7970m or will the 6990m get any benefits from this?

This driver is aimed at optimizing the newest GCN architecture, ie. the AMD Radeon 7000 Series (7xxx cards). The optimizations for your card have already been done in earlier drivers. You cannot expect any major performance increment from this driver, if at all.

I don't use Enduro. It's easier for you guys to download, test it and report back for others in your shoes to know. As far as the general operation of the GPU goes, it's a LOT more efficient, Enduro or not. This applies like a generic performance increment to all 7xxx card owners. Specific differences between Enduro on and off would have to be seen from real life benchmark tests conducted by someone with access to two identical machines, for accurate results.

Here is what you guys should expect. Seems like an overall decent driver update.
BTW: Did it fix the Enduro problems?

Since the links are down, I guess I'll wait until they're back up after the bugs are fixed. Has anyone established whether this incorporated the enduro fix?

Well, that's about 1000 points less than an overvolted, maxed GTX 680M then. That sounds pretty nice to me, it's only about a 13% lead for the GTX 680M.

I just played some BF3 with only 5 people on a medium sized map, all on the highest settings, and I still get only 20+ fps. I didn't get to test Enduro, though. I don't know if the fps goes up as I lower the settings or not.

UPDATE: Just played Diablo 3, max settings with v-sync and AA off... topped out at 65-68 fps. Not really a lot of gain from the previous drivers but a gain nonetheless.
