Hopefully this will prod AMD into putting forth some effort on some 7970M drivers.

It seems they have acknowledged that some laptop models are still unsupported and so require the following information to add all our laptop models to the upcoming release. This is good news! Head over to official NVIDIA forums to request your laptop be added to their official supported list!

So you're one of the lucky ones, eh?

How does it work? Is it an improvement on official 295.55 and modded 301.42?

Running on new driver 304.48. Completely un-installed old driver. Booted into safe mode, ran driver sweeper, rebooted ran sweeper again to be sure. Installed 304.48. Lowered 3dmark11 score by 35-45 points depending on mem speed settings. Hope the in game performance is better than this.

Tried it on my GT 420m ... not that great

Compared to 285.79 (old but my favorites)

    increase 5 points on 3dmark11 (P840 -> P845)

loss 2fps on GTA IV benchmark and, when I tried it out in game, much much worse performance especailly in the dense city area. reverted back to 285.79 and performance was smooth again...

also tried it out in heroes of newerth..same smoothness. Noticed GPU usage was higher than usual, but about the same performance.

Nice will work for me too then. I don't have high hopes about this though. Modded 301.42 is working very fine already.

yeah give it a go. WHen I played BF3, 285.79 were the best I've used for BF3. any other driver, and it would feel choppy, but just remember your results may vary

Removing the drivers that were shipped on the Asus G75vw, safe mode, driver sweeper, restart. Attempted the installation of the 304.48, still same error with regards to the Kepler GTX 660M. :(

    I haven't tried the v2go release yet.

hmm yeah its getting wierd on me i think ill switch back to the 301.42 driver, after all my card has 4x the shaders of a 420m and gddr5 and a higher clock speed.

Please consider that using driver sweeper has caused more problems than its solved, certainly in desktop GPU driver installations.

Not too sure about laptop drivers , but theres no way I would ever use it.

    like what sort of problems?
if guides of use are followed then ive never heard of any problems caused by using driver sweeper especially on laptops. might not solve the problems but wont make things worse.

have no idea about desktop as i dont own one.
you could try driver cleaner pro

I didn't have any problems with the sweeper, and I haven't over... how many years? lol

Anyways... I did the past experienced "installation" by using the sweeper, safe mode, etc., and it didn't work. I had to download the drivers from Asustek website, and I'm all good with the 295's for now.

Damn this driver update makes my games unsteady. In Borderlands my framemate was at a constant 61-62 fps before the update. With the update I get 63 fps ;) , unfortunately it constantly dips to 30-50 fps then back to 63 and then really dips down to 15-20. In skyrim I had a steady 50-55fps, now it reaches 60 but dips down to 30-45 and continues rising and falling. GTX 675m with max settings on each game, I was really looking forward to the updated drivers :(

Looks as if it's only available for Windows 8 users?

Or am I missing something? (W8 drivers aren't by chance compatible with W7???)

Man, I was really hoping to be able to have my new 640m LE up and purring this weekend with a fresh install, without having to resort to using Sony's horribly supported drivers.

Don't forget that they called this a Beta driver for a reason.

The 304.48 driver supports the Vaio 640M LE, you don't need a modded INF.

Huh... well that's really something, it just installed without any problems. I was sure Sony would have blocked drivers directly from Nvidia.

    Awesome.

They never blocked ATI Catalyst on my previous VAIO at the driver level. Just the automatic installer. So I had to install via direct download links.
