I haven't played all of them (it would be a definition of insanity), completed even less, but from which I played I liked AC II the most.hacktrix2006 likes this. -

Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 i really liked, Assassin's Creed Blackflag was ok a very different twist (The boats), Origins made the first two confusing in terms of story line, Odyssey just mudded the water more on that run too. Assassin's Creed III, Liberation, Rouge, Syndicate i haven't got around to yet. The side scrollers i haven't even bothered to play, i rather play Prince of Persia (Amiga version). -

So what happens after the 17th of April? You lose access to the game and have to buy it?
Also, if someone who never played Assassin's Creed before, I feel it is confusing as to where to start or what game to play? Should one start with the first one to understand the story? What is the first one called anyway?Mr. Fox likes this. -

Its free to own/keep, but after the 17th the offer will expire.
As it stands the order is
Assassin's creed Origins
Assassin's creed Odyssey
Assassin's creed 1
Assassin's creed 2 etc etc

Nice! Open world third-person is not necessarily my favorite game genre (I'm really just a linear run-and-gun single-player campaign first-person shooter kind of guy) but there is no way I am going to argue about something that is free... that's a wonderful price. Thanks for sharing the info. I grabbed it. The last time I played Black Flag (the most recent episode in the franchise that I own) was March of 2014. Maybe I will be more warmed up to the franchise now.hacktrix2006 likes this.

I started to play Origins a while ago but found myself distracted by other games. To be honest I did not like the "forced" progression built in this game (and I hear Odyssey is even worse at this). What I mean is that you pretty much must stick to the path the game wants, you cannot go and explore areas which are a little bit over your level, you cannot get overpowered. Some may see this a positive, I see it as the game forcing you to play in one particular way which doesn't suit me.
I will give it one big brownie point. When I got to the pyramids, I found the exact spot I made pictures in real life when I was there and it was very very similar. It's very cool when games do this.
Zero Punctuation review explains my feeling very well:

Just be careful, Assassin's Creed 2 was what started my addiction of solving in-game puzzles for loot.Mr. Fox likes this. -

Dying light isnt a bad game.

I generally do not care for open-world games and prefer a linear storyline over free-roaming exploration. However, I have always loved Left 4 Dead and wanted Dying Light when it was first released. But I am almost never willing to pay full price for new releases. (Rare exceptions were those in the Crysis franchise and a couple of others, but very seldom is a game worth more than $25 to me.) I've checked on it now and then, but found Dying Light prices have stayed way high for far too long. It's still $40 USD on Steam even though it was released in 2015.
BUT, I just snagged it on sale at Kinguin.net for $12... so can't hate that.MahmoudDewy and hacktrix2006 like this. -

when you buy a game from Penguin, are you able to redeem it through Steam or Origin or how does one actually get to install it? -
Yes. You just redeem it with the key like you would any other. And, install it like an ordinary Steam, Origin, Uplay or Epic title. Just avoid the ones called a "gift" and look at the key activation details if you're in doubt.
Off-topic for a bit. Steam just seems to become more of an aesthetic suck-fest with every update. I absolutely despise the crapstastic tiled library. This trash reminds me of Windows 10 feces too much. I can only find a way to make the tiles smaller, but not go back to the superior old-school list format. Anyone know a way to get back the legacy-style condensed list for the library like they used to have? That was so much better.

Make a steam shortcut on desktop and add this to the end of .exe
Code:-no-browser +open steam://open/minigameslist
If it's coming back with virus flags then it might not be wise to use the link I put above.

I can beat that, try g2a.com. It's legit and especially older games are at great prices

Think we should go back to the original topic.

Thank you. Perfect. Even has the old "installed" filter to hide everything that is not installed. Love it.
That's actually a little bit more expensive, but less than $1.00 difference. I buy stuff on Kinguin.net all the time, including Windows. All keys I get there always work flawlessly. I've purchased probably 20 games and a dozen Windows 7 and 10 keys from them over the past four or five years. But, I have purchased some from G2A.com as well and they often have great prices.Last edited: Apr 15, 2020cucubits likes this. -

It might not be the most linear of games but trust me you won't be disappointed.Mr. Fox likes this. -
Ok, I was not aware of some of this guy's claims but it sure doesn't look good for G2A. On the other hand, for being what it is, I see zero reasons for anyone wanting to pay to their messed up subscription system and then cry about fees and having to jump through expert hoops just to cancel it.
For indie games, where the most focus is, I completely agree, there's no point in hurting these developers with platforms like these but for some AAA companies who purposely make design choices to milk as much cash as possible from the consumers, I have zero regrets going to g2a.Mr. Fox likes this. -
I was up to Unity in the series and haven't been able to bring myself to continue it. Wasn't that I didn't like Unity, it was decent, I just think I still feel burned out and I'm so far behind in the overarching story now that it's a little intimidating to continue. Actually, I've probably forgotten so many things at this point not sure it matters much.
