ok so I'm fighting .....
thankson top of the marker with my old dead girlfriend I guess (level 15) but since I am playing it on Hard I got there with only one round (16) of the triangular-shooting gun and that's it.
now it takes 10 fist hits on the girl after freezing her of course for the marker to open, but then I'm getting nailed pretty bad from the other small devils that pup up.
now my question: is it only one time that the marker spills those things to fight me? .. or are those coming on waves ?
I mean I'm supposed to be shooting the maker itself but those devils are pretty hard to kill considering my only one round ammo left. Should I suck it up and load some previous save to try to get to where I am right now with more ammo ? ... this will be pretty damn hard nonetheless...

Waves, and you are in big trouble, I had a hard time with it kind of prepared.

you should stack up weapons before going to the final battle, imo those little creatures require good shooting or lots of ammo. you should take a close save before that and i advise you to gear up first really good specially in hardcore mode.
-
well thanks for the advice to gear up as much as possible
I went back 2 levels and bought as much ammo as I could (something like 916 rounds of my favorite "triangle-shooting" gun) and got the static charge upgraded to max, so with 2 extra charges and 2 double health packs I ran through level 14 without shooting too much and ended on level 15 with some 425 rounds or so. From that point on, fighting on top of the marker (or next to it) was a pleasure for me (and not for the enemy)
loving the game. It says that it took me just under 15 hours of play to finish it based on the check mark save times, but considering how many checkpoint repeats I did it must have been more like 25 hours (or more) of play, lol. But I must admit it was pretty damn hard, so next time I end up playing this game it would be on Normal mode -

yes thank you, I just edited my post when you quoted me, but this was pretty much what I did

actually the line gun (i think if that is the correct term) is the best for those creatures, the one where you shoot a long horizontal line projectile, a little expensive ammo but more reliable because you bet more than a single shot.

those are the two weapons I use - the big line gun and the triangular gun. I upgraded both of those almost to max though, as the line gun provides more powerful shot but the ammo is a lot more expensive, and the triangular one has cheap ammo and doesnt require to be reloaded often - a pleasure to use when upgraded
This is how I played in Dead Space 1, and this is what I used all game here as well.
