I ordered an XPS M1730 with Sli 8700mGT's, t7700, 2gb ram, vista, all for gaming. Do you think this will handle games like Oblivion, Fear, Orange Box (all 5) at 1920 res decent settings? I have one day left to cancel without any resotcking fees. Are the SLI 8700mGT better than 1 single 8800mGTX? I will only order from mainstream companies like Dell, Gateway, sony, toshiba.

In long run, will SLI 8700m be better than 1 8800m? I really really need help-it is a pretty penny and want to make my investemtn last for a few years. Thanks

So far in testing, a single 8800m GTX is faster than SLI Go 7950 GTX's which are faster than SLI 8700m GT's.

Return it ASAP. as soon as 8800M GTX hits the market, the prices will fall for all other products. You will be able to either get the same laptop at a lower price or...get a laptop at about the same price but with the 8800M GTX.

Yeah not to spoil your purchase, which sucks i know (ive been there), but the 8800M is worth waiting for. And buying an M1730 now does not make a whole lot of sense considering DELL should have 8800M's in them within a month, like all the other suppliers (some of which have them now).

I did not find the performance of the 8700M-GTs in SLI to be that impressive . . . and it is unfortunate when the game you are playing does not support SLI because then you only get the performance of one card. That is not so great.

Cancel the order and wait for the 8800M-GTX. Sager is already selling it in the NP5792 and the NP9262, and for much less than Dell.

1 8800M GTX is better than 2 8700M GT in SLImode.

U buy an XPS for gaming, u really want to cancel that order.

Looks like opinion is pretty unanimous there, I'd agree, cancel it, the XPS is a nasty laptop anyway..
