Im using my bros steam account at the mo ive got empire tw installed and ill be getting more games soon. Would there be problems for example if one of us was playing online and the other wanted to play the same game? Im wondering if id be better of just creating my own account for future games
    Cheers

there would be problems if one of you was online and the other wanted to play ANY game, not just the same game.

time to get a second steam account.

I would think two users on one account is against some kind of steam licensing or agreement.

Not that they can track it or know, so it would be a honors system for people to follow the rule.

That said the main problem you will have is only one person can be logged into steam at one time. So only one person can play at the same time.

I log onto my account at work on my laptop sometimes and will have my wife call me 3 minutes later asking me why I am playing games at work because she sees the message on my desktop at home "you have been logged of because your account has been logged onto on another computer" something like that.

Best idea is ask the company. Email them and go this is a family account see if they can cut you a Deal. Like the second game half off. But dont send it to your friends becuse they can send it to there friends and it would look bad to your self.

There is no such thing as a steam family account, they do offer discounts in bundles of 4 for some games form time to time, but those are for separate accounts. there is zero reason to use each others accounts except to share games. Which is sort of ok, but dont expect to play together or at the same time. The account can play one game at a time, period.

I share my account with my girlfriend , she's in Paris and I'm in London .. works fine even when we are both online at the same time and playing (different games , haven't tried with a particular game but should work fine)

    As mew1838 said , go offline ...

Would it be possible to transfer empire total war to a new account when i make one or is it permanently stuck to the one i share. Itd be better to have all the games togther so i can play them whenever in offline mode.
    Cheers

lol, this is Steam, that kind of thing will only work at Mom&Pop's gaming variety store.

No, once you purchase a game it is tied to that account. However it may be possible for each of you to go offline mode and play via LAN. It depends on how the game manages multiplayer accounts.

actually my friend told me about a weird bug in steam
Basically he said he can play SFIV with as many people as he wants with 1 steam account, all he said was that he goes to offline mode, lets his friends login with his steam account and they can go offline as well. Both of them start up SFIV and they can BOTH play online off 1 copy of the game, which is weird. I guess GFWL is poorly designed, i thought there would be a "cd key is in use" restriction or something.
