Gonna try it tonight on my NP8662. What's weird is nVidia's beta drivers tend to be more stable than AMD's "Gold" drivers. Even in 2012 it's that way (GTX 260m and GTX 560m and 7950GTX say so compared to a Radeon 4250M)

Hmmm, not sure what happened to your Skyrim man, but I've tested the new Driver to my GTX 460m (Stock clock) to the following games:

Skyrim - Big improvement!! (Now I can play all settings in Ultra 1080p) with FPS ranging 45 - 50+. :D
The previous driver (290.53) I'm using before for Skyrim in order to play it well 30 FPS, I need to put shadow on Low setting.

Dota2 - Minimal increase of 3 to 5 Fps compared to previous Driver (290.53).

Battlefield 3 - A bit significant increase in the performance as well compared to the previous driver.

So overall I'm happy with the new driver. :)

Weird, this beta, not last, completly borked 4 out of 5 Steam games that now won't launch with an error 51, Area 51?

LOL, Steam has a list of 600 or so aplications that cause this error to delete. Right.

If anyone has the easy fix, please post!

Update: checked the Nvidia forums..I'm not alone. Anyway I dropped back to 290.53 and all better now. It may make a difference to install Steam after update but don't want to spend the time now. Will look again next week for any REAL frame rate increase..none in 290.53 from old 285 drivers for Skyrim.

Hi man, apologies as I cannot post the exact screenshot of my settings since I'm at work so I'll just take note of it here: (Using my stock clock GTX 460m)

    Fullscreen Resolution: 1920x1080
    Graphics Quality: Ultra
    Shadow Quality: Low
    Effects Quality: Medium
    Mesh Quality: Medium
    Terrain Quality: Medium
    Terrain Decoration: Medium
    Antialiasing Deferred: Off
Antialiasing Post: Off/Low (Not sure if there is an Off option here though :x)
    Motion Blur: Off
    Motion Blur Amount: 50
    Anisotropic Filter: 16x
    Ambient Occlusion: Off

Also to note with this settings (Using the new Driver) I'm getting FPS average around 35-45.

Haven't tried MW3 and Alienswarm yet, but both Dota2 and Skyrim are listed into my Steam account. Not really sure why some of you guys are having problems with it, but I'm happy with the improvement of this new driver especially to Skyrim. :)

Hey, I'll try later as I got other projects now. In Skyrim, I have a save point, at a "vanilla" High setting, where I FRAPS bench any updates. So far no FPS increase in 290.53.

Right now I'm seeing 56-61 FPS outdoor @high, and 28-30 FPS at ultra @1600x900. I wish the game had a built in B.M. like the old FEAR games.

After installing this driver my display driver fails, BSOD on every startup after about 30 secs of flickering and Winsat running on every startup.

Safe mode is fine. Tried to uninstall completely and install previous driver, same problems.

    Any suggestions?

have you tried clean installing the drivers? uninstall first the previous nvidia driver, laptop will reboot, then when your laptop is currently booting press F8 (safe mode) then run ccleaner and other registry stuff. reboot again and install new nvidia driver. again reboot.

last time when i ran ccleaner and reg clean i just eliminated 1gb of needless stuff i have in my rig, so since then i usually do a clean install.

Yea, went through driver sweeper, then cccleaner all in safe mode.

Anyways...strangely enough, I tried to restart one final time, it started acting up, I held down the power button.

It went into sleep or whatever, I pressed it again and logged back in out of being locked out.

And no problems...no idea what's going on.

For me it's not a good driver, many audio and video problems with avi and mkv files, so back to 290.53 and problem solved.
