    hi,

i'm trying to figure out why one of my gpus' temps are almost always 10degC cooler than the other. this goes for idleness, gaming, benchmarking, etc. here are my temps. if you check my signature you can see my 3dmark06 and 3dmark vantage scores, and am confident that crossfirex is enabled. also, i use a belkin notebook cooler and keep my room windows open to keep room tempertures low, but can't figure out if the 10degC difference between the cards should cause concerns for me or not. thank you.

That's due to the placement of the GPUs in relation to the cooling system. One of them is closer to the fan which should make it cooler (take a look at any dual GPU, single PCB GPU, temps will vary between each GPU). I wouldn't worry about it unless when gaming the temps go over 80C. Then you might need to clean out the vents or reapply some AS5 or similar TIM.

Yes, its just because on a laptop, they don't stack the GPU's or anything so one is likely closer to a fan or farther from other hot components so it stays cooler. It shouldn't matter as long as both tems are relatively low

Your Q9300 temperatures are more concerning than the GPU temperatures, if you're idling at 54c I can't imagine what you're hitting under load.

Well what im more concerned about is that one gpu isnt performing as efficiently as the other.

Mine idles at about the same temps and under load it's about 60C only o_O Isn't that normal for quad cores?

Yours is also running 500 MHz slower, so it'll be idling around the same even though load temps will be different. Of course it could be no problem at all.

Like others have said though regarding the GPU, it has to do with the location of the chips in relation to the fan / heatsinks.
