Ive been noticing slow framerates in gaming, and this of course probably has to do with my GMA950. But then I had a look at the task manager and noticed that my CPU was being fully used during gaming.

Is this normal or is this a sign my 1,6GHz solo isnt cutting it?
(Id post a screenshot but dont know how to post pictures here >< )

Well your CPU isnt exactly fast. So i would say Yes, it is normal that a games these days would need to use up full usage

Mine will probably use 100% CPU aswell for the games i play

Ive heard stories from people that the performance of IGP's is more linked to your cpu than discrete cards. Anyone know if this is true?

You're basically screwed at both ends. The GMA 950 is an awful IGP to begin with, and then the 1.6 GHz Core Solo is nowhere near fast enough to pick up the slack.

A fast processor can mitigate a bad IGP somewhat, but the GMA 950 wasn't going to be terribly playable even in that best case scenario.

Dont worry, Im not expecting any miracles. Im just curious if it will improve framerates any at all, even if its just 5 to 10fps best case scenario

Id say its more linked to RAM, since it uses it

I don't think you can trust task manager with the cpu usage. According to it, even bomberman maxes one of my 1.6ghz cores(t55000.
