There is this game PSO BB I really want to get, but it's highest resolution is 1024x768... for some reason this screen will stretch the the picture to fit on the whole screen... which looks really bad IMO.

Is there a way to get it to not stretch, and just have a black border around the image? I dont mind if it's tiny.

(Sorry... I know I have another topic close by, but I didn't think it's subject was similar enough)

    what game is it?

    see if this helps

    www.widescreengamingforum.com

    click the master game list

if it isnt listed there, check your .inf file and see if you can change the resolution manually to your native resolution.

    pb,out.

Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst... I think it has zero widescreen support.

Like I said... I dont care if takes up the whole screen or not, I just dont want it stretchy.

1024x768 isnt widescreen. Thats the problem. This notebook converts 4:5 or 4:3 into 16:10... which makes it all stretchy and ugly.

Check your video card driver settings, ATI and Nvidia both have options to turn off scaling (black bars on all sides) or stretch while maintaining aspect ratio (stretches the image but keeps it at the 4:3 ratio with black bars on the sides).
