    I'm looking at a yoga 720 15 with the 2gb gtx and a ideapad 720s 15 with the 4gb to max q

Because there aren't many machines with the 1050 ti maxq can you describe
All the differences between these two cards that could come up.
    Both machines uhd screen

Either machine have any egpu advantage
    ?

What about screen used any data any researcher can come back with based on gaming? Thanks

id go with the 4GB version. the max Q is downclocked compared to the regular version, but you can always overclock to standard clocks again. you cannot do that with the vRAM though ;) and 4GB is absolute minimum nowadays for any sort of graphics intense application like games....

as for specific game titles: best to pick the ones ure most interested in and search for system requirements and/or browse online forums for recommendations by other users :) as a general rule of thumb though, i would recommend 4GB as an absolute minimum. it naturally also depends on the graphics settings and display resolution ure using: the higher the settings / higher the resolution, the more vRAM u need.

btw, i just noticed that u were comparing 1050 Ti and regular 1050, the former of course is a different chip with more performance so thats another bonus.

yeah i know. as mentioned before, max q just means the clocks are tuned for power consumption and acoustics, otherwise its still a full fledged 1050 Ti which you can adjust via overclocking for regular 1050 Ti clocks :)

Depends how badly TDP-limited it is. Although FFS why does 1050 Ti even need a Max-Q variant, it's already super low power as it is...

I don't know why they introduced it since 1050 Ti consume less energy than 1060.

I'd be 1000% for someone trying a 11.6, 12.1 or 13.3" gaming machine again with that card. Yeah, the AW13 exists, but it's rather big for a 13". The UX331UN is the closest right now, but a 1050 Ti MQ would be far superior to a MX150.

Hahaa. Could have added 7700K and GTX 1080 as well underneath 14" lappie.

lol i think that would be too much to handle for such a form factor... UNLESS! they decided to release a 14 incher without 2.5 inch HDD slots and without ODD. Only one M.2 slot for storage, leave the rest for cooling capacity. plus add thickness, for god´s sake! lets say around 40-45 mm like the 15 and 17 inch P-series by Clevo, that would be quite the machine! :)

They redesigned their 15"/17" BGA systems and slimmed them down since last gen to go with the trend.
The 14" already didn't get that redesign. Probably due to low demand. Also with the upcoming hexacores it will be quiet a challenge to go slim and still run within spec.

Maybe I see something in the 13/14' range that I like from one of the other players next month...

The Aorus is nice, yes and slightly more powerful than the AW13. But it's also almost exactly the same size as the AW13.
I was meaning more along the lines of W110ER or something, but truly a shame that as @Prema noted Clevo seems to have given up on anything below 15". I think there's still a 14 and 13 they sell but not even a hint of a dGPU.

indeed. however, they (clevo) seem to follow a new trend with igpu based laptops, reduced weight, but socketable desktop cpus. i kinda like that, especially when its about owning a laptop next to a desktop :)

    the W110ER was indeed legendary!
