What I don't understand is, you don't need more detail and "retina" by increasing resolution to 4K.
Why can't we have 1080p for fast gaming + something insane like 400 DPI? Why not? This would I imagine allow for crisper image. But also allow for 60 FPS 1080p gaming we just reached in the last few years. Mobile gaming is NOT ready for 4K when 980 Ti is failing to maintain 60 FPS in nearly all 2014/2015 games.
If this is not the case, please enlighten me.
And don't say costs. A manufacturer can problem solve this issue if the demand was there.

Haha, 400 DPI at 1080P is a 5" screen. That's why they don't do it. Also I have no idea what you mean by "retina". The point of 4k is to make much crisper images at a certain size than 1080p. 1080p at 15" can't possibly look as good as 4k at 15" the dpi is way higher at 4k.i_pk_pjers_i likes this.

The premise of this thread is so full of fail. Why am I not surprised.

Didn't say look as good. And it was a question. Thanks for answering in a wonderful condescending manner.

Sorry didn't mean to be condescending, the haha was a bit much. I was genuine about what you mean by "retina" though.

PPI is a function of screen size and inversely proportional. You can't increase PPI without increasing resolution or shrinking the screen size. Retina is simply just a term coined by Apple for a high resolution/high PPI display. You can do the same thing with any 4k display, just scale it down 50% and you have 1080p resolution on a 4k LCD. Problem is Windows scaling sucks balls.

So calling people chumps in the FO4 thread isn't condescending? Hypocrite much?
