Hi, i was just wondering how much diference in performance it would make if I purchased a notebook with ATi x1600 with 128mb of dedicated memory and another one with 256 MB memory.

    Just some exaples: Asus s96j 256mb X Sony Vaio Fe790 128mb

    Thanks,

There are a lot of threads on this. The 256MB card benchmarks about 1/3 higher than the 128. How much of a difference there is in acutal gaming can be a different story - if the game doesn't need 128MB of VRAM, then both cards should deliver equal performance. Most newer games use more than 128MB, so obviously it is preferable to go with the 256MB. The difference in performance will be noticable once the quality settings are turned up.
