 I checked pretty much the whole graphics section to find a comparison like this. Unsuccessfully. Direct me in case I missed something.

From what I gather the 256MB X1400 has 128MB dedicated .... so does that mean that the 128MB X1400 has 64MB dedicated?

    Both are HyperMemory Cards.

However, the ATi website has no distinction of the two classes and the Acer 5672 has the 128MB one and its says that it is dedicated.

I'm buying a laptop for myself (want a zepto, not enough dough) so I'm settling for the Dell E1505. Decided on all specs but the GPU. Don't know which card to choose?

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

The Acer 5672 has 128MB dedicated VRAM - no need to worry there. I wasn't aware than an X1400 64MB existed.

if your going for a 5672 go to newegg.com and look for the x1600 version. Its several hundred cheaper then the retail x1400 version and is alot more powerful. good luck.

thanks man ... that the most killer deal i've seen in a long time ... apart from gaming, there will be times that i'd like to use the laptop for casual tasks w/o a plug point nearby. How much battery life do you get on this thing?

    hey chaz,

if you go to the dell website and try to configure the E1505, you'll see the two cards clearly listed in the graphics options section of the first page along with the Go7300.

~2-3.5 hours. It comes with a epower manager that you can slightly tweak to get more life. If I remeber correctlly you can choose low, med, high, and max cpu performance; turn certain power hungry h/w off; and adjust screen. All so when you go back on battery power you dont have to readjust for battery performance.

But remeber it has a beefy dedicated grfx card which does limit battery life.

    I did - the "128MB" (64MB + 64MB) card is the Radeon X1300.
