    128mb atiX1600 and 128mbX1400 Vs 256mb ati X1400

    is there any difference between 128mb and 256mb graphics cardsof the same series as ill be playing games like fifa2006

    The X1600 is the fastest card there. Although the extra memory on the X1400 might be handy for storing textures on, it is not going to give it the speed boost to take it over the X1600, or anywhere near it actually given the X1600s stronger pixel fill rate performance.

    Yes, it is less but memory, but the X1600 has more pixel and vertex units. It may 'only' have 128mb, but its still the faster card over the X1400. More memory does not always equal more performance.

    X1400 is ATI's sort of upper budget range. The X1600 is mid-range, its a better option all around.

    There are no ATI X1400s that have 256MB of memory - the maximum is 128MB of dedicated memory. Whatever else is advertised on top of that is memory that the card can share from the main system memory - aka HyperMemory. So, a 256MB X1400 is actually 128MB dedicated + 128MB shared. The shared memory does not help performance.
