Ok, I'd like to complie a quick list of all the current gaming class 14" and 15" notebooks out there. I consider "gaming class" to be at minimum an AMD Turion64 or Intel Core Duo coupled with an ATI x1600 or nVidia 7600 or above. Please feel free to add to this list. I posted a few to start and have been adding them as others post them. I'm basically doing this for a quick reference and maybe help others see everything all in one spot.

Acer Ferrari 5000
Dell XPS m1210 (a 12" that stays in class with these, definitely worth noting) -
Acer 5000 added to the list, i'll keep throwing the new ones on the list so its all in one easy place to reference. XPS m1210 is insane for a 12" but only has the nVidia 7400. I'll leave it off the list for now, maybe I'll find a place for it when I expand on the original post a bit.
It might be good for me to post some spec's of these machines along with pricing, but I am getting ahead of myself. For now I want to just gather up what I can for a simple list. -
maybe just screen size and what gpu/cpu they have in parenthesis next to the name.
-
(10 characters.) -
The A8ja is a 14" x1600 notebook as well.
-
Asus F3Ja (15.4"widescreen x1600)
-
How about the ASUS V1J?
-
Zepto 6214W (14", 1280x768, 512MB 7600) and Zepto 6215WD (15.4", 1680x1050, 512MB 7600).
The Zepto 2425 should NOT be included as it is simply a rebadged Compal unlike the two above listed models which are Zepto originals. -
Added some more suggestions to the list, but wasn't sure if I should add the Asus V1J seeing as it isn't really out for purchase yet. Looked up some data on it and it seems like there is a few varients floating around on the net but nothing really available for purchase yet? Anyways thanks for everyone's input again!

Zoostorm 2-6301 -15.4" widescreen and a x1600
rock pegasus 665- 15.4" widescreen and a 7600
evesham c545 plus 14" widescreen and a x1600
Perhaps put the country/continent each is available from. all above are uk or european models -
dont know if you interested but u've put zepto 6215WD when its actually a 6615WD
, also on the denmark site they have brought out another 6214w but in white, called the 6314W
-
-
-
Alrighty, replaced the 6215WD with the 6615WD ... also added a couple more. V1J up there now too.
-
asus a6jm (15,4" go7600)
-
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 1556 (15,4", go7600)
-
Clevo D450T (15,4", go6800),
Clevo D700T (15,4", X800/go6800),
Clevo D750W (15,4", X800/go6800) -
Mine computer is old but at the time, the ATI X700 was considered a gaming graphics card for the 15" notebook. BTW, I have an HP DV4000.
-
the minimum processor requirement is turion x2 or core duo...
-
You forgot mine Acer 5024
-
-
...how about the Acer Aspire 5112 (x2, x1600)?
-
Sorry but what a waste of time...
I don't see what standard You are trying to set in here with this thread. Not all in here can afford to buy laptops every now and then andnot all in here have just bought a new laptop to brag about.
I considder my laptop really good even though it's below Your standards... -
.
Though i really think you should put were the notebooks are available and possibly there prices. Makes it far easier for people to work out which one is right for them. -
I'm not trying to belittle current laptop owners, what I originally intended to do was just just fill in the gaps where I missed when looking over gaming portables.
Now all I am trying to do is offer a helping hand to people in the market for a NEW laptop by keeping this going. Believe me I know full well that a Pentium M and a x700 are going to perform EXTREMELY close to many laptops on my list.
But for those out buying new models, most are going to be looking for current generation hardware. -
Those Clevo's have pretty d*mn powerful gpu. x800 is a lot more powerful than x1600 or go7600. Yes, the processor P4 but as we are talking about Gaming laptops, then the gpu is a lot more important than cpu.
Oh, and are you going to add that Fujitsu-Siemens I mentioned. At least it meets the requirements here, Core Duo and go7600.. -
yes the clevo's are powerful, but like trav said, people shopping for new ones are gonna want newage hardware. and yes the fujitsu should be added to the list
-
ASUS Z92T (15,4" X2 GF7600 256mb)
-
Alrighty, list should be up to date now, added the fuji and the asus.
-
Can I sugest putting the price next to each notebook? Like an average price...
Thanks. -
dont have anything to add to this thread, but I do love my acer 5672.
-
I think the sony fe series should be added, they will come with core 2 duo and nvidia 7600. And what surprised me is that the starting price is U$ 1349.00
Ps: Would anyone consider puting prices next to the notebooks?
Thanks -
Better than prices, we should all amount of graphics memory. But a price range would be a good idea, rather than just a single price. Say, $1100-$1800, and 256MB of GDDR3 graphics memory for an HGL-30 (only one I have experience with)
-
Only these Sony Vaio FE models have an option for Geforce go 7600:
VGN-FE690
VGN-FE790 (Core 2 Duo)
Not all of the preconfigured ones come with it. Some may have the go7400 and some the Intel GMA950. The preconfigured VGN-FE690PB seems to have go7600. -
BenQ Joybook P52 (15,4", x1600)
BenQ Joybook S73 (14,1", x1600)
ECS G610 (15,4", x1600/go7600) -
I'll get the benq and sony's up in a bit. I'll also consider adding some additional information that's been requested.
-
Sony FE series has the Nvidia 7600. Also dosent the Acer 5672 have a x1400?
-
Well, since your naming off 15" notebooks, you forgot to add the ASUS S/Z96j. Fits your requirements it seems....
-
can somebody list which ones have core 2 duo in them?
-
as far as i know:
m5550
asus z96j and from certain stores along with a few other asus models including the v1j
LG s1
hp nc8430
and both compals from certain stores
im sure i missed a few, feel free to correct me anyone -
Sony FE added, along with the BenQ's and ECS.
-
Toshiba Satellite A100 series (15.4" x1600)
-
what i don't understand is that you guys are talking gaming notebooks with nice graphic cards, without listing how much memory (dedicated) they have and what the clockspeeds are!
everybody should be able to tell that the acer 8200 series has much better performance than the macbook pro, even tho they both have a x1600.. -
Asus V6J is also a 15" gaming laptop as well
-
Asus A8Js - 14.1, Go 7700
Asus A8Jp - 14.1, X1700
Asus F3Jp - 15.4, X1700 -
Necro-hump.
... A8Js has been officially released! -
Asus G1
-
Toshiba Satellite A100-237 and A100-914
both have x1600 and are 15.4
toshiba Satellite P100 with GeForce 7900 -
14" and 15" gaming laptops. Let's list them.
