Hi guys first post, sorry if this is an old topic (used search long and hard still no answer)
I have an inspiron 1420 with minimal specs (integrated graphics) I was wondering if there is a way i can get my hand on a 8400M GS and install it myself?
is this an easy install? how can i find the parts? (looked at dells parts store it's not offered)

thanks in advance for any info (or links to threads with info).

    No you can't.

And it's nvidia, maybe that's why you won't find anything :)

Dell Inspiron 1420,1520 and 1720 have an interchangeable graphic card assembly but only if you have the 965PM motherboard in it! If you have integrated graphics you have a 965GM.

You can only upgrade by swapping the motherboard for a 965PM type, try ebay.
