    HI,

I'm in a pickle of how a 8400gs will perform on the 1440x900 (with truelife) resolution over the baseline of the 1280x800 resolution. Would it make a big difference in performance of framerates etc?

The games I'll only be playing are Battlefield 2 and Company of Heroes.

    thanks in advance.

You might have to bump the settings down a bit, but as long as you have at least 2gb of RAM everything should be ok.

Anyways, you could always lower the resolution for the game.

1440x900 should not be a difficult resolution for the 8400gs to drive. I think you'll be fine.

If you are looking at FPS games, then even WXGA would be asking too much.. Perhaps 800x600 is more reasonable...

Difficult for the card to make it..

But I also don't think the difference wil be great from 1280x800,so go for 1440x900.

you will definitely see lower performance in 1440x900 as opposed to 1280x800.

    no doubt.

on a side note- battlefield games don't support wide screen. you can sort of do it without having it looked stretched... but not really.

I receive many posts regarding BF2's lack of support for wide screen but again, I can do a wide scree hack that only crops the top and bottom FOV for me, which is fine IMO.

It appears I'm getting mixed opinions as far as this thread is going. Some say the 8400GS will struggle on 1440x900 resolution but others say it will be fine; given that medium graphical settings are configured.

Does anyone have a 8400GS on a 1440x900 widescreen hack and please report back how it plays?

    thanks
