Is the Sager NP8660 the ONLY 15" with the 9800m GT?
And also the m15x from Alienware, the ONLY 15" with the 8800m GTX?

    Thanks :D

    That's kinda weak.

Don't you guys think the market needs more 15" gaming laptops?

Yeah and the worst thing about it is the m15x has bad build quality and the np8660 no one knows how its going to turn out. So I think I'm just going to play it safe and go for a 17inch notebook.

There's a market, but it is also difficult to shove something that throws off as much heat as a X800M GPU in to a 15". Plus, it sucks down so much battery, it would be tough to make a mobile notebook at 15" with one of those GPUs in it.

The Sager's pretty thick though. I'd expect Clevo to throw in a halfway decent cooling system.

Can anyone say...WATER/PELTIER COOLING IN A LAPTOP!?

No. You can't. Just don't say it. It is too awesome.

Heat is the enemy. I still don't see how putting an 8800m GTX or 9800m GTX in a 15 inch chassis is at all safe. The heatsinks on those things must be MASSIVE.

So then, how did AW manage to fit it in a 1.something" case?

I know they're having problems with downclocking CPUs, creaking screen hinges, breaking chassis due to the poor plastic, but that has nothing to do with fitting the 8800m GTX in a 15" case...

There is no problem in physically fitting the card into the case, its just that they need to disperse the heat properly inside the laptop which is harder to do in a 15in case.

I wouldn't mind the engineers removing the optical drive for example to fit a more powerful videocard would you guys?

Actually they will work in the 15.4 inch laptops, the laptops just need to be a little thicker to accomadate better cooling solutions.

I'd mind; several games I own require the Disc to be in the optical drive to play, and there is no way around it (Battlefield 2). We've already seen some extremely powerful GPU's like the 9800M GT and 8800M GTX stuffed into 15" laptops. I believe in the next year or 2 we will see more and more and more powerful GPU's in smaller laptops.
