Same as title.
Currently looking at the 8662 which has a gtx 260m but are there any cards that are better in a 15.4 inch lappy?
thanks

The NP8662 is currently the most powerful 15.4" laptop on the market IIRC so no, you won't find any better than the GTX 260M in a 15.4" chassis currently.

Okay, thanks =)
Was just making sure i didn't buy the 8662 then find out a couple days later that there was a better laptop out. -
Define a couple of days
I wonder when the 4870 GDDR5 model will debut (and when it will come in a thick *** 15.4" notebook).

If you wait for the next big advance in technology you will never end up making a purchase, as something better is always around the corner. Get the NP8662 and enjoy it! Trust me you will!

^^^^^^^^^ What all o them said lol, and no you will see similiar performance between the 260m and the 4870... actually I would say the 260 is better due to psyX support

-
That didn't sound to enthusiastic. Have some confidence! That 260m will last you a good long while

The 4870 will not come in a 15.4" notebook, so dispel that as a possibility immediately.
-
Make sure to quote these exact words when some crazy PC enthusiast miraculously mods their laptop to manage a 4870.
-
Ill probably order the laptop within the week even though i'm almost certain that i will get this laptop-I try not to make any rash decisions. =x
And thanks for the info Kevin -

I think the Asus N81p is more impressive since it's a much small and portable 14.1" machine, and still packs quite a wallop, with only 65 watts max of power usage. Pretty ****** incredible I say and a great price too! Wish I had one

The 4860 should come sometime soon in the Asus K series. It should be on par with the 260m, if not better.

Rule of thumb: if you need it, buy it. If you can wait, then wait.
It's that simple. There's no use keep waiting for ht next big thing, because there's always a next big thing lol
Believe me, before it had the GTX 260M, he NP8660(the ancestor to the NP8662) had a 9800M GT and it still held the title of most powerful 15.4" laptop for quite a while.
Really it comes down to what you need. A GTX 260M can most likely handle any game out today and next year(if not the 2 years after also). -
the NP8662 must be getting quite hot imo.
-
-
Actually, the NP8660/8662 was praised for its superb cooling system. That's part of the reason of what makes it so big and weigh so much(t was ~7lbs last I checked).
The NP8660 which had a 9800M GT had lower temperatures than some lower end notebooks with lesser GPUs. -

nice

lol it wasn't meant as an insult at all.
A friend of mine had a macbook pro and I was playing css on it about 3 years ago and it got amazingly hot. I just wanted to see if apple had improved on their cooling system since then or not.
